Anon believes the near future will begin a renaissance of the internal combustion engine and the automobile. We're nowhere near out of oil, America is still a huge country with a mobile society, and EV's suck donkey balls. The big legacy automakers are going away however. GM and Ford are finished, it's just that they refuse to admit it. Once they fail, new American auto makers will emerge and fill the vacuum. As long as all software installed in black box devices is open-source, and the only people with access to the collected data are you and your mechanic, the tech integrated into cars has the potential revolutionize personal ground transport.

Or we'll all be riding electric scooters and never travelling more than 10 miles from home.

If they could make a machine that made my dinner and did my laundry without having to touch and put me to sleep every night with a blowjob, it would be a perfect world. I could concentrate on things that mattered and made the world a better place.

Gas turbine APU driven electric motor for city and short distance driving, gas turbine driven shaft for efficient and fast long distance highway travel.

Best of both worlds. Just need to beef up the brake systems a little.
