Weaponization Committee THREAD:
The FTC has demanded that Twitter provide, among other things:
Information relating to journalists’ work protected by the First Amendment, including their work to expose abuses by Big Tech and the federal government;
Every single internal communication “relating to Elon Musk,” by any Twitter personnel—including communications sent or received by Musk—not limited by subject matter, since the day Musk bought the company;
Information about whether Twitter is “selling its office equipment”;
All of the reasons why Twitter terminated former Twitter employee and FBI official Jim Baker;
When Twitter “first conceived of the concept for Twitter Blue,” Twitter’s new $8/month verified account subscription;
Information disaggregated by “each department, division, and/or team,” regardless of whether the work done by these units had anything to do with privacy or information security.
There is no logical reason, for example, why the FTC needs to know the identities of journalists engaging with Twitter. There is no logical reason why the FTC, on the basis of user privacy, needs to analyze all of Twitter’s personnel decisions.
And there is no logical reason why the FTC needs every single internal Twitter communication about Elon Musk.

>DJT had already courted with the idea way before 2016.
Maybe way before; and, I even think it was Uncle John who planted the seeds.

FTC asks Twitter for Elon Musk’s internal communications: report
March 7, 2023 5:49pm Updated
The Federal Trade Commission has asked Twitter to turn over internal communications related to owner Elon Musk, detailed information about layoffs and other business decisions as part of an investigation into the social media company, the Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday citing documents.
The FTC, chaired by Lina Khan, sent 12 letters to Twitter and its lawyers since Musk’s takeover in October. It also asked the company to “identify all journalists” who were granted access to company records and to provide information about the launch of the revamped Twitter Blue subscription service, the report said.

Voting tech firm spotlights Murdochs in defamation suit
NEW YORK (AP) — A voting tech company suing Fox News is arguing that Fox Corp. leaders Rupert and Lachlan Murdoch played a leading role in airing false claims that the technology helped “steal” the 2020 presidential election from former President Donald Trump.
Smartmatic said the Murdochs, as the ultimate authorities at the network’s corporate parent, “directed Fox News Network to embrace disinformation following the 2020 U.S. election as a business decision.”
“Rupert and Lachlan Murdoch were front and center in the decision to cover and facilitate the disinformation campaign published by Fox News after the 2020 U.S. election,” Smartmatic said in its Monday filing, part of its defamation case against the top-rated conservative network.
Fox News and Fox Corp. did not immediately return messages sent Tuesday seeking comment on the claims, which are based on news reports and filings in a separate defamation case against the network by a voting machine manufacturer, Dominion Voting Systems.
In a recently unsealed filing in the Dominion case, Rupert Murdoch acknowledged that he didn’t stop various Fox News commentators from promoting unfounded claims from Trump allies that the election was stolen, even though he could have. He also acknowledged that some of the network’s hosts — Lou Dobbs, Maria Bartiromo, Jeanine Pirro and Sean Hannity — at times endorsed the false claims.
