Netherlands government went full retard.
They plan 75% increase on gas taxes because electricity with all the windmills has become to expensive.
They want to switch to electicity because they refuse to buy Russian gas, while Russia even lobbies for a north stream gas pipeline. And they refuse shale gas, and they refuse pumping more out of the biggest gasfield in the Europe (lyng in the Netherlands) because of some minor earthquakes.
Consumers are forced to pay more or switch to heat pumps with an estimate cost of around 80.000 dollar for each house.
