DC is not a state
they even want foreigners to be able to vote.
they clearly don't care about rule of law
or the Constitution.
as they are not a state, they must not care about the Constitituion of the United States.
They live in a nether of privledge.
you have to be born in it.

they are following the rules that they know.

they are about special connection privledge, fancy dinners that somoene else pays for, having their names on all the right lists, free for life living, and having a secret fortune

and treating your lessers as less.
that's the point of view that they seem to exude.
