I know a landlord who had his account hacked and lost his whole account. The FDIC replaced $35,000 of his $125,000 account. Luckily he has many accounts to the FDIC insured limit because he believed each accou t would be replace up to what is now $250,000. They are not. He funds multiple accounts to the limit. He NOW ( about 10 years ago started believing) believes the fdic is a scam. He has also had the bank steal his money for having an inactive account so beware.
