Trump: 'I am an election denier,' and half of the county is too

Trump's closest GOP primary challenger now appears to be Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who has not yet entered the race.

Former President Trump says he's an "election denier" and so are 50% of Americans.

"If you look at the polls, a lot of people think that that election was rigged and stolen," Trump said Thursday.

"I happen to be one of them. … I'm an election denier, and so are, substantially, I would say substantially more than 50% of this country. And I think it's a much higher number than that. You get a lot of election deniers in this country, and they're not happy about what happened."

Trump made the comment in a media roundtable to discuss his upcoming book, "Letters to Trump," according to the Washington Examiner.

Trump also said that early 2024 presidential polls are giving him confidence in winning the party nomination next year, and he said MAGA anger over the outcome of the 2020 election may be feeding that.

"We're doing great in the polls," the former president said. "We've just got one from New Hampshire where we're like 40-something points up on anybody. Overall, we're way, way up. And a lot of it has taken place over the last two or three weeks."

He was referring to an Emerson College poll that showed him leading his likely closest GOP primary challenger Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis 58%-17%.

DeSantis has not entered the race but as of now appears to be Trump's top rival for the Republican nomination.

Musk plans to build his own city near the Texas capital

The scale of the proposed project remains unclear, with the Journal describing it as a "town" but observing that Musk has discussed expanding the settlement on the scale of an entire city.

Tesla founder and Twitter CEO Elon Musk is reportedly planning to build his own city using recently purchased farmland outside of Austin, Texas.

Musk envisions a "utopia" settlement in which his employees would live and work, the Wall Street Journal reported. Realtors working with Musk say he would like to create a situation wherein his employees at Tesla, SpaceX, and Boring might live for below-market rental costs.

At present, the "town" includes some modular homes, a pool and other outdoor amenities. It is situated between the Boring and SpaceX facility construction sites. At least 110 homes are reportedly planned.

The scale of the proposed projects remains unclear, with the Journal describing it as a "town" but observing that Musk has discussed expanding the settlement on the scale of an entire city.

Musk-linked entities have purchased at least 3,500 acres of land around Austin, though some local realtors have speculated the billionaire may control as much as 6,000 acres.

The electric vehicle mogul moved to Texas in 2020 after previously launching development projects for SpaceX and Tesla in the state. Tesla's corporate headquarters is in Austin.

Silicon Valley Bank employees received annual bonuses hours before collapse: report

The amount of the bonuses is uncertain, but previous years' bonuses have been as much as $140,000.

Employees at Silicon Valley Bank reportedly received their annual bonuses just hours before government regulators seized control of the financial institution.

The California bank traditionally has paid employee bonuses on the second Friday of March, people with knowledge about the matter told CNBC on Saturday.

The payout for 2022 bonuses happened to fall on Friday, Silicon Valley Bank's last day as an independent institution before the California Department of Financial Protection & Innovation closed it down. The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation subsequently stepped in to take control of the bank.

The amount of the bonuses is uncertain, but other Silicon Valley Bank bonuses have ranged from about $12,000 a year for associates to around $140,000 for managing directors, according to Glassdoor.

Silicon Valley Bank was shut down after depositors rushed to withdraw money last week. The institution's collapse is the largest U.S. bank closure since the 2008 financial crisis when Washington Mutual was shut down.

Charles Payne Hits the Nail on the Head – The Biden Action is a Bailout for Silicon Valley

March 13, 2023 | Sundance

The installed occupant of the White House said something today that is just brutally false on its face.

From the words typed into the teleprompter of Joe Biden you hear, “No losses will be borne by the taxpayers. Instead, the money will come from the fees that banks pay into the Deposit Insurance Fund.” Who the hell does Biden think are paying those “fees”? Those fees paid into banks, and then out of banks, from all around the nation are paid by the people using the bank, that’s taxpayers.

The United States government does not create a single dollar of revenue. They transfer revenue from people to processes and systems of government. Charles Payne has a good perspective on this entire dynamic. {Direct Rumble Link} WATCH:

EU may introduce its own ‘foreign agents’ law – Politico

NGOs are “spooked” by a new study ordered by Brussels, sources have told the outlet

A survey commissioned by the EU could signal that Brussels is getting ready to introduce its own foreign agents law, Politico reported on Monday.NGOs and consultancies are said to be “spooked” over the potential move, which could mean they would have to report any foreign funding to the European Commission, the outlet said.

Three sources told Politico that a study, performed by a third party on behalf of the Commission and asking non-profit organizations to reveal if they receive any funding from outside the EU, has been circulating in Brussels.

According to the sources, the question made some groups worry that by answering it they were “effectively putting themselves on a future list.”

The study “took a lot of people back,” said Nick Aiossa, the head of policy and advocacy at Transparency International, a German-registered NGO set up with the goal of tackling corruption worldwide. The group is linked to Open Society Foundations – a grantmaking network founded and chaired by controversial investor and sponsor of neoliberal causes George Soros.

Aiossa told Politico that he took part in an oral questionnaire as part of the survey and that the “guiding questions suggested they were evaluating whether Transparency International was a threat to democracy.”

The study was ordered by the office of European Commission Vice President for Values and Transparency Vera Jourova, which is tasked with developing the so-called “defense of democracy” package, the report said.

That legislation, which is aimed atprotecting key EU institutions from influence from foreign actors, had been promised by Commission President Ursula von der Leyen during her State of the Union speech in September. (Soros and his NGOs can get kicked out of EU, but the EU opposes it for Georgia??? Maybe the EU is targeting conservative NGOs)

It’s expected to be finalized by the end of May.

“The timing is awkward” for the EU to be working on such a law, Politico pointed out, recalling recent protests in aspiring EU member Georgia.

Thousands took to the streets in the capital, Tbilisi, for several days earlier in March decrying a draft law on foreign agents. The opposition, which rallied the people, has blamed the government for trying to pass “Russian-style” legislation, requiring any group receiving more than 20% of its funding from abroad to register as a foreign agent.

Brussels fully sided with the demonstrators, with EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell describing the now-abandoned law as “a very bad development for Georgia and its people” and warning that “it goes against Georgia’s stated objective of joining the EU.”

This is why they are using democracy and democratic so much:

"In this vein we ought to note that the term “democratic backsliding,” as seen in the subtitle of Norm Eisen’s book, and its opposite “democratic breakthrough” are also terms of art in the Color Revolution lexicon. We leave the full exploration of how the term “democratic” is used deceptively in the Color Revolution context (and in names of decidedly anti-democratic/populist institutions) as an exercise to the interested reader".
