Some 57% of teen girls in the U.S. felt “persistently sad or hopeless” in 2021, a nearly 60% increase in the last decade. Even worse, 30% said they seriously considered suicide over the previous 12 months, 24% made a plan for suicide and 13% attempted it.

Saw this a few days ago and it has been simmering with anon. The gist of the study is they don't know why this is happening. As anon sat with this, a few theories came to mind, and wanted to post here to get other anon POVs.
Observation #1: Seems to be an overlay with this and with the rise in teen (mostly girls) veganism. Cause, effect, no relationship, anon doesn't know and without any real academic research to look into it (which ain't gonna habben), it will continue to be a question mark. But anon has done some research into the carnivore movement and adherents universally report positive and improved emotional and mental health. Link is lefty, but illustrates (unintentionally) the point. https://www.ethicalglobe.com/blog/why-young-people-are-driving-the-vegan-movement
