There's an amusing Manhua/Webtoon adaptation of a Chinese novel… to the effect of "imprisoned for one million years, my disciples are all over the world". Follows an amusing character by the name of Lu Chen who was at the peak of existence before coming out on the wrong side of a conflict.
I say he is amusing because he behaves outside convention. It's unnecessary. The world has become obsessed with rank and hierarchy - typical cultivation stuff - but the main character was effectively a god who knows the world and is pretty strong even in his sealed state. His solution, when people choose to try and force him to follow their ways and customs, is generally to slap them into giving up and listening to him.
