DDX21 A gene on chromosome 10q21 that encodes a protein which has a conserved Asp-Glu-Ala-Asp (DEAD) motif and, as an ATP-dependent RNA helicase, unwinds double-stranded RNA but can also introduce a secondary structure to a single-stranded RNA, acting as a foldase.
