there's nothing wrong with the idea of using the will to achieve something in life.
Intent always precedes action.
What matters is the spirit underlying the intention - whether it aligns with spirit of Love/God/nature or whether it's more like "my way or the highway".
That's what differentiates sorcery/witchcraft/black magic from prayer/meditation/contemplation. With a prayer, there's always a "God's Will be done" included somewhere to save us from manifesting something that would take us down the wrong path.
