The difference now is that the bots will directly engage twitter (and qr gab etc) users and attempt to persuade them posing as another like minded twitter user instead of just posting to a bot account. These chatbots will use keywords to seek out conversations to join. DARPA isn't fucking around this time. These bots are sophisticated.
This is why I give President Trump WIDE latitude on personnel decisions. Trump often brings people close in to set them up. This is a wicked wicked time where lies are circulating like grains of sand in a dust devil. If Ric G (or others) aren't playing straight, they're playing with fire being that close to the President. Let's see what happens.
