The state of Minnesota is aiming to become the third state to adopt ranked-choice voting, a completely corrupt system of voting that almost always favors the left.

Ranked-choice voting is how Alaska keeps electing left-wing Republican Lisa Murkowski, despite widespread dislike of her by conservatives in a solid red state.

Minnesota is doing this for purely political reasons. They are trying to make sure that Republicans are never elected there.

Minnesota is seeking to become the third state in the nation to utilize ranked-choice voting (RCV) for state and federal elections, following in the steps of Alaska and Maine.

While five cities in the Gopher state already use RCV for municipal elections — Minneapolis, Saint Paul, Bloomington, Saint Louis Park, and Minnetonka — Minnesota Senator Kelly Morrison has introduced a bill that would require RCV for all state and federal elections. While the bill is currently in committee, it has a companion in the Minnesota House that’s waiting for a hearing.

RCV requires voters to rank candidates in order of preference. If no candidate receives 50 percent of the vote, the candidate with the least votes is eliminated, and his votes are redistributed to whichever candidate his voters ranked as their second choice. This process continues until one candidate clears 50 percent.

As one might imagine, this process is riddled with errors. Not only do election results take weeks or even months to tabulate, but sometimes the wrong candidate wins. In an Oakland school board race, for example, election officials announced — two months after the fact — that they got the count wrong. The rightful winner is now suing for his seat.

Proponents of RCV argue that it rewards moderate, centrist politicians, as candidates have to appeal to a wider pool of constituents to earn their 2nd or 3rd rankings. What this really means, as a local Minnesotan paper describes, is that Republicans are pushed out for Democrats.

People who have dealt with this in other states are trying to sound the alarm.

Ugandan president lashes out at West for promoting LGBTQ rights in Africa

Despite the threat of sanctions, the parliament is set to vote on an anti-LGBTQ bill

Western countries should stop “wasting the time of humanity” by trying to impose their beliefs and practices, including homosexuality, on other people, Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni has said.

The president of the East African country made the comments in a parliamentary address on March 16, as lawmakers prepared to vote on an anti-LGBTQ bill.

Although homosexuality is already illegal in Uganda, a bill introduced in early March and set to be debated this week, with a vote as early as Tuesday, proposes harsher penalties for promoting LGBTQ rights and activities.

Museveni said that Western threats of sanctions against African countries that oppose homosexuality are hypocritical. “Europeans and other groups marry cousins and near relatives. Here, marrying in one’s clan is taboo. Should we impose sanctions on them for marrying relatives? This is not our job,” he stated.

The US cut off aid to Uganda in 2014 and canceled a military exercise in response to a law that imposes prison terms up to life for “aggravated homosexuality,” which includes homosexual sex with a minor or while HIV-positive. Projects affected by the cuts include funding for a $2.4 million Ugandan community policing program, which was stopped following a police raid on a US-funded health program at Makerere University, Reuters reported.

Uganda is not the only African country known for its anti-LGBTQ policies. A bill called ‘The Promotion of Proper Human Sexual Rights and Ghanaian Family Values’ was introduced in Ghana’s parliament in August 2021.

The proposed legislation aims to restrict LGBTQ communities and ‘activities’ while also promoting ‘legitimate’ sexual rights and Ghanaian family values. It increases punishment for cross-dressing, public displays of affection, and other behaviors and also makes advocating for LGBTQ rights on social media or other online platforms illegal.

In Nigeria, Sudan, and Mauritania, the death penalty can be imposed for sexual relations between people of the same sex.

UK to blast ‘loud siren-like’ alert to every phone in country

The government says that a new system will protect the public against a “range of threats”

Mobile phone users across the UK will receive a loud alert message next month as the government tests an emergency warning system. The alerts will sound even if phones are on silent mode, and users will not be able to use their devices until acknowledging the warning message.

Described by the government as “life-saving,” the emergency alerts system was launched on Sunday and will be tested nationwide in the early evening on April 23. The test alert will cause any phone connected to a 4G or 5G mobile network to vibrate and will be accompanied by “a loud siren-like sound” for up to ten seconds.

A warning message will then stay on the phone’s screen, preventing normal use until it is acknowledged.

After the test, real warning messages will focus on severe weather related-incidents such as flooding or wildfires. However, the BBC reported that terror alerts may also be broadcast in the future.

Similar systems are already in use in the US, Canada, Japan, and the Netherlands.

"It will revolutionise our ability to warn and inform people who are in immediate danger, and help us keep people safe,” Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster and MP, Oliver Dowden, said in a statement. “As we’ve seen in the US and elsewhere, the buzz of a phone can save a life.”

Those who don't want their Sunday evening interrupted by a government klaxon, however, can switch emergency alerts off in their phone’s settings menu.

The case has already been thrown out of court and Stormy was ordered to pay President Trump $300,000 for filing the junk lawfare case against Mr. Trump.

Comer said he thought it was odd that this took place THE DAY AFTER Congress released proof that the Biden family was paid millions by the China regime in secret deals not reported by the criminal family.

Comer also announced the Oversight Committee has bank records on 11 more illicit Biden family business deals.

James Comer: Well, it’s very odd that this would come out just the very next day after I revealed bank records which showed that the Biden family, the President in particular, hasn’t been truthful with respect to his family receiving payments directly from the Chinese Communist Party. So it almost looks like it’s an effort to detract, but at the very least, it’s another example of a two-tier system of justice. Look, we’ve been looking into these classified documents. We saw the FBI rated Mar-a-Largo for one set of supposedly mishandled classified documents, but yet Joe Biden had at least five different locations of mishandled classified documents, and they give him days and days to go in and clean up with his attorney. So this looks to me like it’s another example of a two-tier system of justice at the DOJ.

African Country Burundi Detects Polio Outbreak Linked to Polio Oral Vaccine – Vaccine-Induced Polio is Now More Prevalent than the Wild Type

An outbreak of vaccine-induced polio has been declared by Burundian health officials, marking the first time the paralyzing disease has been detected in the East African nation in more than three decades, ABC reported.

A four-year-old child in western Burundi who had not been vaccinated and two other children who had come into contact with the child have all tested positive for polio, the Burundi government confirmed in a statement on Friday.

It was determined that the virus that caused the children to become ill was a mutated strain of polio originally contained in the oral polio vaccine.

According to CDC, a vaccine-derived poliovirus (VDPV) is a strain related to the weakened live poliovirus contained in oral polio vaccine (OPV). If allowed to circulate in under- or unimmunized populations for long enough, or replicate in an immunodeficient individual, the weakened virus can revert to a form that causes illness and paralysis.

“VDPVs can cause outbreaks in places where vaccine coverage is low. In addition, people with certain immunodeficiency disorders can shed the virus for long periods of time, during which the virus can continue to change and can infect an unvaccinated person,” the agency added.

The vaccine-induced polio is actually more prevalent than the wild-type poliovirus.

Despite the fact that the polio vaccine was the root cause of the outbreak, the Burundi government is planning to launch a vaccination campaign within the next few weeks to safeguard all children under the age of seven.

“We are supporting the national efforts to ramp up polio vaccination to ensure no child is missed and faces polio’s debilitating impact,” said Dr. Matshidiso Moeti, WHO’s Africa director.

Polio is a highly infectious disease mostly spread through water and typically strikes children under five. There is no treatment. Although the oral vaccine used in the global effort to eradicate the disease is highly effective, it requires four doses.

The oral vaccine can also cause polio in about two to four children per 2 million doses. In extremely rare cases, the weakened virus can also sometimes mutate into a more dangerous form and spark outbreaks, especially in places with poor sanitation and low vaccination levels.

In recent years, the oral polio vaccine has caused far more cases of polio than the wild polio virus. Last year, cases linked to the oral vaccine turned up in rich countries including Britain, Israel and the U.S. for the first time in years.

Oxfam 'Inclusivity' Guide Tells Staff To Avoid Using 'Offensive' Words Like 'Mother', 'People' and 'Headquarters'

Oxfam has released an “inclusive language” guide which apologizes for using the English language before going on to deem a number of words ‘offensive’, such as “headquarters,” “local,” “people,” “mother” and “feminine hygiene.”

Yes, really.

The poverty and hunger charity was slammed for caving to absurd levels of political correctness after issuing the bizarre 92-page guidance to staff members.

“We recognise that this guide has its origin in English, the language of a colonising nation. We acknowledge the Anglo-supremacy of the sector as part of its coloniality,” states the introduction.

“This guide aims to support people who have to work and communicate in the English language as part of this colonial legacy. However, we recognise that the dominance of English is one of the key issues that must be addressed in order to decolonise our ways of working and shift power.”

Apparently, merely using the English language is now racist and offensive.

The word “headquarters” is criticized because it “implies a colonial power dynamic,” while “field trip” is also frowned upon because it can “reinforce colonial attitudes.”

UBS To Buy CS For $2 Billion; SNB Offers $100 Billion Liquidity, Authorities Force Bypass Shareholder Vote

Update (1300ET): The Financial Times reports that UBS has agreed to buy Credit Suisse after increasing its offer to more than $2bn, with Swiss authorities poised to change the country’s laws to bypass a shareholder vote on the transaction as they rush to finalize a deal before Monday.

The purchase price is a fraction of the $8 billion market cap the company was valued at on Friday's close; it means that UBS will now pay slightly more than CHF0.50 a share in its own stock, up from a bid of SFr0.25 earlier today, but far below Credit Suisse’s closing price of CHF1.86 on Friday.

We also learn that UBS agreed to a softening of a material adverse change clause that would void the deal if its credit default spreads jump; it wasn't immediately clear if that entire clause was scrapped or if the CDS trigger was merely pulled wider.

UBS shareholders - who will not be consulted on the deal which will circumvent normal corporate governance rules by preventing a UBS shareholder vote - are angry. As FT notes, Vincent Kaufmann, chief executive of Ethos Foundation, which represents Swiss pension funds that own between 3% and 5% of Credit Suisse and UBS, told the Financial Times that the move to bypass a shareholder vote on the deal was poor corporate governance.

“I can’t believe our members and UBS shareholders will be happy about this,” he said. “I have never seen such measures taken; it shows how bad the situation is.”

Border agents arrest 16 people on FBI’s terror watchlist at Mexico crossing

US Border Patrol agents stopped 16 people on the FBI’s terror watch list who illegally crossed into the country from Mexico, authorities said this week — with new data showing border arrests this year are on pace to surpass 2022’s record.

The total number of encounters at the US-Mexico for fiscal year 2023 is now 69 and will likely exceed the 98 encounters documented last fiscal year, according to data released by Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

Last month, agents at the southern border stopped 16 people who were on the FBI’s terror watch list, CBP said.

CBP’s Office of Field Operations has encountered 214 people on the Terrorist Screening Database at ports of entry at both the northern and southern border this fiscal year. During the fiscal year 2022, there were 380 apprehensions.

The number has jumped considerably compared to 157 in the fiscal year 2021 and 196 in the fiscal year 2020. Between 2017 and 2020 there were eight terror watch-list arrests between ports of entry and in 2021 there were only 15.

The Biden administration has presided over a record surge in illegal immigration — with nearly 2.4 million illegal border-crossing arrests in fiscal year 2022.

Migrants encountered on the Terrorist Screening Database are only a small fraction of the overall number of migrants — more than 150,000 in February — stopped at the US border. With the database numbers in mind, Republicans have urged Biden to better secure the border.

That number shot up from 1.7 million in fiscal 2021 but was less than the 500,000 arrests in 2020 and nearly 1 million in 2019. So far, 2023 is set to outpace that record, with over 762,000 Southwest border apprehensions recorded by CBP through January.

While numbers appear to be higher overall, there wasn’t much of a jump in total apprehensions between January when there were 128,877 people who crossed the border illegally and in February, when there were 128,913 total.

“The new border enforcement measures kept February’s overall encounter numbers nearly even with January,” said CBP Acting Commissioner Troy Miller.

According to Miller, CBP has launched a new app to allow migrants the ability to schedule an appointment at a Port of Entry to request a humanitarian exception to the Title 42 public health order.

“The app cuts out the smugglers and decreases migrant exploitation,” Miller said. “CBP continues to make improvements to the app to address feedback we have received from stakeholders.”

‘Not True’ — Joe Biden Contradicts Hunter’s Confession of China Payout

President Joe Biden contradicted Hunter Biden’s confession the family business received payments in 2017 out of China.

“That’s not true,” Joe Biden protested to reporters Friday when questioned about recent revelations the family’s bank accounts were enriched with funds from communist China.

Despite Joe Biden’s claims, Hunter admitted on Thursday the family business did accept China money in 2017. Hunter not only admitted the Biden family business received China money, but he also acknowledged he, along with James, Hailie, and unknown “Biden,” all received $1.3 million collectively.

“Hunter received his portion of good faith seed funds which he shared with his uncle, James Biden, and Hallie Biden, with whom he was involved with at the time, and sharing expenses,” Hunter’s spokesperson acknowledged.

The White House on Friday refused to respond to a request for comment when Breitbart News inquired whether Joe Biden still believed Hunter did not receive China cash, as he previously said.

Joe Biden’s denial comes after House Oversight Committee James Comer’s (R-KY) revelation on Tuesday the Biden family business received a $3 million wire transfer from a Chinese energy company and subsequent payments after President Joe Biden left the vice presidency in 2017.

Comer has also found evidence that shows the Biden family business received $179,836.86 while Joe Biden was in the White House while he was Vice president in 2015. Although the sum appears to be insignificant compared to the $31 million received by the business during Joe Biden’s time as vice president, the new amount builds upon the previous reporting in 2022 by Breitbart News senior contributor Peter Schweizer.

Report: Nearly Half of ‘Climate Change’ Companies in U.S. Banked with Failed SVB

Half of the companies in the U.S. devoted to climate change and biotech banked with the now-failed Silicon Valley Bank (SVB), leaving many of those companies looking for financial backers willing to take on the risk.

As San Francisco Bay Area public radio station KQED reports, many of those companies received funding from SVB because other banks were less willing to fund investments that had lower chances of providing a return:

Nearly half of the country’s bio- and climate-technology companies, many of them headquartered in the Bay Area, banked with Silicon Valley Bank. Last year, SVB committed to investing at least $5 billion in the clean tech industry.

But even as the FDIC quickly stepped in to guarantee deposits, following the bank’s collapse, many companies have been scrambling to find new banks, open accounts and reorganize payroll systems.

To his point, SVB was widely known for incubating ambitious climate and biotech startups, and was a valuable resource for new companies looking for a bank willing to invest in innovative and somewhat risky ventures.

Kimberley Strassel, a columnist for the Wall Street Journal, quoted one source who called such investments “subprime business loans”:

Most of these companies weren’t filling some vital market need. Rather, as the Journal reported, SVB was beloved for its willingness to offer “banking services to startups that often weren’t profitable, in some cases didn’t have a product, and would otherwise have a hard time getting a line of credit or a loan from a larger bank.” One tech entrepreneur provided law.com a more scathing description of SVB’s products: “They’re basically subprime business loans. You’re talking about companies that have no credit profile, they’re burning cash and are unlikely to raise the same type of capital because of interest rates. . . . It was basically social credit.”

What inspires a bank to disregard risk and shower money on products or services that nobody is clamoring to buy? One answer is easy money and misguided regulation, which washed dollars into the economy even as it pushed banks like SVB to load up on sovereign debt, lulled by a Federal Reserve-fed belief that interest rates would stay near zero forever. The other? Washington handouts, via President Biden’s effort to engineer a climate industry that otherwise wouldn’t exist.

She argues that the same Democrat-led government that funded failed enterprises like Solyndra in the 2009 “stimulus” — managed by then Vice President Joe Biden — is making the same mistake again.

Great Reset: EU Vote to Implement Digital ID Latest Step in the ‘Chinaficaiton of Europe’ – MEP

A European Parliament vote for bloc-wide digital IDs is the latest step towards the “Chinafication of Europe”, an MEP has claimed.

Cristian Terhes, a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) for the Christian Democratic National Peasants’ Party, has described the European Union’s latest push for cross-border digital IDs as another move towards the “Chinafication” of the bloc.

Although bureaucrats in Brussels have insisted that the measure is in the interests of average citizens, the parliament’s vote to see digital IDs adopted appears to be one of the latest attempts by EU institutions to pull power away from member-states’ national governments.

According to a report by Euractiv, the vote to see negotiations for a European Digital Identity Framework (eID) to go forward was approved by the bloc’s parliament on Thursday — though the publication describes the process as a mere formality.

Romana Jerkovic, the parliament’s rapporteur for the digital ID programme, heralded its approval of the plans, claiming that they will enable individual EU citizens to have “full control over their own data” while accessing facilities across the bloc.

Such a claim has been heavily disputed by Terhes, however, who instead sees the measure as a dangerous erosion of the rights of those living within the European Union.

“The loss of our freedoms and liberties to the Big State is normally done incrementally, but the passing of the eID Wallet is a big step towards the Chinafication of Europe,” the parliamentarian told Breitbart Europe, repeatedly warning that the measure could give authorities China-like oversight over people’s private lives.

“This Digital Wallet will allow the EU and national authorities (like the Chinese Communist Party) to have technical tools so they can know what the people are doing and to impose control,” Terhes said.

“Something similar to a Chinese style Social Credit System is now made available in the EU, because this eID Wallet is a necessary technology to its implementation,” he alleged.

Macron Proclaims to ‘Regret Nothing’ as Fiery Protests Spread Across France Despite Police Ban

Paris saw its third straight night of violent chaos, with clashes breaking out between the police and the people and fires being set across the French capital, as President Macron claimed he “has no regrets” about sparking the largest mass mobilisation since the Yellow Vests after he used a loophole to pass through his retirement age raise without a vote.

At least 81 people were arrested in Paris as violent protests and riots broke out once again on Saturday evening; the third protest of its kind since Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne — the second-highest official in France besides Macron himself — saw the minority globalist government use article 49.3 of the constitution to approve legislation to raise the pension age from 62 to 64 without a vote after it became clear that it might not receive majority support in the National Assembly.

After two nights of violence, on Saturday afternoon the Paris police announced a ban on protesters gathering around the Champs-Élysées and the Place de la Concorde, where protesters burned an effigy of President Macron.

Some chanted that they could “decapitate” the leader just like the French Revolution did to King Louis XVI.

Police also tried to limit the number of protesters by shutting down several subway stations near the Champs-Élysées for “security measures”, Le Figaro reported.

Protestors instead met at the Place d’Italie, on the opposite side of the river Seine. On social media users shared a poster featuring a picture of Macron standing in front of fires with the Eiffel Tower in the background, calling on people to protest “until the government falls”.

Once again, footage on social media showed rioters clashing with police, and setting fires to the tonnes of garbage that have festooned the streets of the capital in the wake of a trash collector strike. Violent and chaotic scenes were also recorded across the country, with protests breaking out in Brest, Bordeaux, and Nantes, among others.

It also appeared that police were ‘unleashed’ on Saturday, with footage showing officers violently engaging and tackling seemingly peaceful protesters.

But the country’s main opposition party has warned of “widespread violence” if the day is allowed to go ahead.

The EFF, which has been accused of inciting violence against white farmers through its use of the “Kill the Boer” song at its rallies, has warned businesses and shop owners to stay closed on Monday.

In a video message last week, EFF leader Julius Malema called on South Africans to “stand up, let’s go and fight, don’t be cowards”.

Mr Malema and the EFF — South Africa’s third-largest political party — are demanding the resignation of President Cyril Ramaphosa over the energy crisis, which has seen large parts of the country plunged into rolling blackouts, known as load shedding, wreaking havoc on the economy.

Sununu on possible Trump arrest: ‘Democrats have misplayed this’

“I think it’s building a lot of sympathy for the former president,” Sununu said of the possible arrest on CNN’s “State of the Union.” The governor said some Republicans he’d talked to who aren’t “big Trump supporters” expressed concern that the former president “was being attacked.”

“I just think that not just the media, but really, a lot of the Democrats have misplayed this in terms of building sympathy for the former president and it does drastically change the paradigm as we go into the ‘24 election,” Sununu said.

Trump, who is again running for president in 2024, said in a Truth Social post on Saturday that he expects to be arrested on Tuesday over alleged hush-money payments made to adult-film star Stormy Daniels during the 2016 presidential election, and encouraged his supporters to protest.

Sununu on Sunday stressed that this possible arrest isn’t connected to the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol, and suggested that there are other matters that should take precedence.

“There’s a question about why they’re doing it, something seven years ago. It’s not a nothing, but it’s moving money and how he claimed money being moved between him and his lawyer. You know, there are other issues that really take precedence in terms of where this country needs to go, what we need to do to get stuff done, how we manage our budget, how we secure the border,” Sununu said.

“There’s much more pressing issues of the day. It’s just unfortunate this has taken the headlines.”

Sununu has said he’s mulling over his own presidential bid for 2024, and though he didn’t confirm his campaign on Sunday, he said he’d “love to be in a debate if we actually go down that path.”

‘Destroying Zionism’: Masses protest overhaul; rise in violence against demonstrators

Hundreds of thousands of Israelis participated in nationwide demonstrations held for the 11th straight Saturday evening against the government’s plans to shackle the judiciary, which were marked by numerous acts of violence against protesters.

Protest organizers vowed to escalate demonstrations if the coalition doesn’t halt its legislative proposals, which lawmakers are due to advance next week, declaring this coming Thursday a “national day of paralysis.”

“Next week Israel’s government intends to pass the dictatorship and religious coercion law,” protest organizers said in a statement Saturday.

“Hundreds of people will line up against them like an iron wall and back the High Court and heads of the [judicial] system to stop the coup. Every citizen must come out and take a stand in these fateful moments of the State of Israel. Together, hundreds of thousands will save Israeli democracy,” they added.

Over 260,000 people demonstrated across the country, including 175,000 in Tel Aviv, 20,000 in Haifa, 4,000 in Netanya, 11,500 in Herzliya, 18,000 in Kfar Saba, and 6,000 in Beersheba, according to a count by company Crowd Solution cited by Channel 13 news.

Approximately 10,000 protesters rallied outside the President’s Residence in Jerusalem.

Jacob Frenkel, a former Bank of Israel chief who until recently chaired JP Morgan Chase International, warned that the coalition’s far-reaching plans for overhauling the judicial system are “destroying the Zionist enterprise from within.”

Speaking at the main protest in Tel Aviv, Frenkel told the crowd that the judicial overhaul will cause Israel severe economic consequences.

“Our friends are surprised and wonder how a country that was an object of envy and admiration, is destroying the Zionist enterprise by hand in an extreme way from within, and all this in less than three months,” he said.

Russian forces hit 92 Ukrainian artillery units at firing positions, top brass reports

Russian air defenses intercept nine HIMARS, Olkha rockets, seven drones over the past day

Russia’s armed forces struck 92 Ukrainian artillery units at firing positions in 114 areas over the past day during the special military operation in Ukraine, Defense Ministry Spokesman Lieutenant-General Igor Konashenkov reported on Sunday.

"Russian operational/tactical and army aviation aircraft, missile troops and artillery struck 92 artillery units at firing positions, manpower and military hardware in 114 areas over the past day," he said.

Battles in Kupyansk direction

The western group of the Russian forces struck Ukrainian manpower and equipment in the Kupyansk area, eliminating up to 50 troops over the past day, Konashenkov said.

"In the Kupyansk direction, aircraft and artillery of the western battlegroup struck the Ukrainian army units in areas near the settlements of Dvurechnaya, Timkovka, Olshana in the Kharkov Region and Novoselovskoye in the Lugansk People’s Republic," the spokesman said.

The strikes eliminated the enemy manpower and military hardware, the general noted. "Up to 50 Ukrainian personnel, two armored vehicles and two cars were destroyed," Konashenkov reported.

Russian combat aircraft shot down a Ukrainian Air Force Mi-8 fighter jet near the city of Kupyansk in the Kharkov Region, he added.

Battles in Krasny Liman direction

Russian forces eliminated over 90 Ukrainian troops in the Krasny Liman area over the past day, Konashenkov said.

"In the Krasny Liman direction, artillery and heavy flamethrower systems of the battlegroup Center struck the enemy units," eliminating "over 90 Ukrainian personnel, three infantry fighting vehicles, three vehicles, one Gvozdika self-propelled howitzer, as well as D-20 and D-30 howitzers," the general specified.

Battles in Donetsk direction

The units of the southern group Russian forces eliminated more than 80 Ukrainian troops in the Donetsk area over the past day, Konashenkov reported.

"In the Donetsk direction, more than 80 Ukrainian personnel, three armored combat vehicles, four pickup trucks, three Grad multiple rocket launchers and one Msta-B howitzer were destroyed in the past 24 hours as a result of active operations by units of the southern battlegroup, air strikes and artillery fire," the spokesman said.

Battles in southern Donetsk, Zaporozhye directions

Russian forces destroyed over 50 Ukrainian troops in the southern Donetsk and Zaporozhye areas over the past day, Konashenkov reported.

"In the southern Donetsk and Zaporozhye directions, operational/tactical aircraft and artillery of the battlegroup East employed combined firepower to inflict damage on the Ukrainian army units near the settlements of Novomikhailovka, Ugledar, Prechistovka, Privolnoye in the Donetsk People’s Republic and Orekhov in the Zaporozhye Region," the spokesman said, adding that the enemy’s losses in those directions in the past 24 hours exceeded 50 Ukrainian personnel, three pickup trucks and one D-30 howitzer.

Leak: Pentagon not planning to reinstate 8,000+ fired troops who refused COVID vax, says report

A Defense Department public affairs guidance document exclusively obtained by investigative reporter Jordan Schachtel shows that while the military Covid-19 vaccine mandate has ended, the Pentagon has no plans to reinstate thousands of service members who were discharged for refusing to take the vaccine.

The Defense Department document entitled “PUBLIC AFFAIRS GUIDANCE: RESCINDING THE COVID-19 VACCINATION MANDATE” acknowledges that troops discharged over the vaccine want to know if they will be reinstated.

However, the Pentagon fails to confirm or deny whether such reinstatements will occur, stating, “All Service members and Veterans may apply at any time to the appropriate Discharge Review Board or Board for Correction for Military/Naval Records if they believe that there is an error or injustice in their records.”

The guidance also recognizes that “some members of Congress have indicated they will look next year to support ways to reinstate or provide back pay for Service members who were dismissed for refusing to take the vaccine.”

The Pentagon does not reveal whether it is for or against potential legislation that would force the reinstatement of troops discharged over the vaccine, stating, “The Department will provide its views on legislation of this nature at the appropriate time and through the appropriate process.”

President Joe Biden officially killed the Covid-19 vaccine mandate for the military in the defense budget bill he signed into law Friday. More than 8,000 active-duty troops have been discharged for not taking a COVID-19 vaccine at a time when the Army alone missed its annual recruitment goal by 25 percent – the worst miss ever.

According to the document, the Pentagon does not believe the Covid-19 vaccine mandate hurt recruiting efforts.

“Our data and analysis does not indicate a direct correlation between the COVID-19 vaccination requirement and our current recruiting challenges,” the document states. “Eligible youth who are not inclined to serve cite a number of issues including the possibility of physical injury, possibility of emotional/psychological harm, having to leave family and friends, and other career interests, to include attending college.”
