I can accept that there are people who want desantis over Trump. They are generally normie boomers who think Trump is too aggressive or tweets too much.
Not the type of people to be on this board, harping on Trump.
It's shill vs shill, though, as some shills are attacking Trump for not being christian enough while others are trying to say he should have put people in wood chippers at the border.
Soros wants DeSantis to run to try and divide the republican base and then game the system so desantis wins in the primaries (remember, a number of states allow anyone to vote in any primary and even if not, we are years out from a vote for people to regiater appropriately). This will either force a third party run by Trump or result in a conpletely demoralized conservative base. Desantis might be able to squeeze out a primary win against trump because of the degree to which the gop is against trump, but he will not win against any democrat afterward.
There is also some hope that even if Trump does win in the primary, it will be at the cost of desantis supporters in the polls.
Either way, it's the end of desantis' political ambitions. He may be a bushie - but he's not necessarily horrible. He's retarded if he runs for potus, now, though.
