Q

" … "Bring them to heel"

Define heel.

(of a dog) follow closely behind its owner. … "

From a DogAnon. Heel means to stay at my left side in consistent position, shoulder even with left hip, watching me, no matter what direction I move and whether I move or stop, go fast or slow.

It takes a long time of frequent practice and steady positive reinforcement to teach a dog to heel properly. It is a partnership of attention, focus and engagement.

Things have changed for the better in the dog world. Heeling is no longer subservience but partnership and mutual joy and understanding.

Sorry Q, your concept of "heel" is woefully outdated and an insult to dogs teams. None of the cabal has the intelligence, discipline or love necessary to properly train a dog to heel.

This is what real true dog heeling looks like.

Poetry in motion. Power, grace, motivation, working engagement, focus.
