Daybaker here.

Most of us already can, or so it seems.

Anything more than the light namefagging that exists already is treading into Baker's Guild territory, and we know how that turned out (history for the newfags: dismally).

Pretty much.

That and the time of day during which a Baker posts helps too.

For example, Workfag is usually on whenever I'm on, which helps a ton in the mornings; MetalBaker is usually around that time as well, sometimes earlier or later depending.

Identifiability is an inevitable part of the process, as far as I can tell. Plus, seeing a reliable Baker puts folks' minds at ease.

That said, Baking should not be restricted to a select few identifiable people; in the event that Bakers are specifically attacked, all Anons should have the capability and knowhow to step up as needed.

Let me put it this way:

Anons freak out about even the tiniest thing out of place, assuming it has a place at all.

If a baker clowns out, then Anons will know and promptly flame that asshole into oblivion while waiting for a dependable Anon to bake a fresh bread.

We're over 2000 threads in and clowns still haven't figured out how to bake without shutting the place down.

Fucking pathetic on their end, really - they've had months, the dumb fucks.

Are there other things that can be done to improve the lives of the dedicated Bakers and encourage new potential Bakers to step up and become dedicated pros themselves? Yes.

Adding extra identifiability over what already exists/is acceptable is not the way to do it.
