Porn star Stormy Daniels' lawyer Michael Avenatti has sought police assistance after the mysterious promoter of the QAnon conspiracy theory posted a photo of a man outside of his office.

The figure known as 'Q', an anonymous Trump supporter who claims to hold high-level government clearance, on Sunday posted three photos taken outside Avenatti's office in Newport Beach,California.

The first two photos, posted to the message-board 8chan, show exterior views of Avenatti's office building, along with the message 'Buckle up!' It's unclear when the photos were taken.

The third photo, which is reversed in mirror image, shows a man carrying a cell phone in one hand and a long, thin object in the other, walking in the street near Avenatti's building.

The man's face can't clearly be seen, and it's unclear whether he is simply a pedestrian unaware he is being photographed in public

The man appears to be in his 50s and is wearing a black polo shirt and slacks, as well as sunglasses.

The photo of the man was accompanied by the text 'Offices of MA. Work on Sunday? Who is supplying feed? Who is financing? Q'

On Monday, Avenatti posted a version of the photo on Twitter in an appeal to the public for information.

'We are trying to identify the man in this picture, which was taken outside my office yesterday (Sun) afternoon,' Avenatti wrote. 'We will NOT be intimidated into stopping or changing our course.'

The attorney urged anyone who recognized the man to contact the Newport Beach Police Department.

The Newport Beach Police department said that they were 'looking into what is categorized as suspicious circumstances' in connection with the photo.

Avenatti told the Daily Beast that since Q had posted the photos outside of his office, the number of threats he received had quadrupled.

'I consider my new prominence among these conspiracy theorists to be a badge of honor, because it shows that many consider me to be a threat to this president, as they should,' Avenatti said.

Avenatti said he believe the man in the photo could be holding a shank.

Q responded to the Daily Beast report by posting a link to it, along with the comment 'Right on schedule.'

Also known as 'The Storm', the QAnon theory is based on a series of anonymous and highly cryptic posts on the message boards 4Chan and 8Chan, which purport to be written by a high-level insider in President Donald Trump's White House.

Q is a reference to 'Q-clearance', the Department of Energy security classification that offers the broadest level of access to Top Secret and Secret Restricted Data granted by the US government.
