>Anon seriously does NOT understand the significance of the pork / no pork. Will someone enlighten please?
The Hebrews were actors on astage for the rest of us. they had to follow he dietary law to teach us something. We do not have to live by that script.
De 28:37 And thou shalt become an astonishment, a proverb [parable], and a byword, among all nations whither the LORD shall lead thee.
The dietary law is not about eating. Eating is a metaphor for learning.
The clean animal ruminates and has a split hoof. The good teacher meditates on the word of God and it produces a separated walk/life.
The Pharisees has a split hoof, thinking they were holy, but it was self-righteousness not based in the Word of God.
The scribes knew the word but it did not produce holiness in their lives.
The hoof lifts an animal off the ground. A symbol of separation from the earth/flesh.
The camel has two toes, but he flesh of the toes fall on the ground. It is unclean.
The swine does not discern what it eats. Those who don't discern what they learn are not good teachers.
