I'm dealing with the VA (med).

I get an email asking if I'm interested in participating in a med survey.

I click to view document.

The document is NOT viewable UNLESS one clicks on agreeing to allow the use of electronic record sharing and e-signatures through a private contractor.

So I send a reply email, stating that I could NOT view the document.

Get a phone call, the lady is trying to get me to click to allow e-stuff.

I explain that I want to view the document FIRST.

I tell her that would be "signing up" for a service that I DO NOT WANT AT THIS TIME.

She offers to describe the document verbally.

(Seems that I would STILL need to click that shit, if I was interested)

Finally, she offers to MAIL (SNAIL MAIL) said document to me.

I ask for an explanation as to why she cannot simply email it to me.

She tells me this is how she has been trained.

So I tell her to mail it.

(she says it'll be at least 5 days. OK Whatever)

What seems to me to be more like a "HIGH-PRESSURE SALES TACTIC", more to get me to sign up for electronic record sharing and e signatures than the survey, has ALREADY caused me to REJECT THIS.

Thoughts?

TY anon.

I'm gonna figure out a way to complain to someone about it.

One should be able to view the document FIRST.

THEN, be able to agree to participate WITHOUT signing up for the e-services.

Then LASTLY, if e-service is OFFERED, then whatever TOS/Disclosures can be reviewed and agreed to OR NOT.

Yeah, I know…

After all the things that have been "hacked"…

All the "data breaches"… "ACCIDENTAL releases"… etc.

All the notices that have gone out stating that ones personal data MAY have been compromised…

Big banks. Gov't data sets at all levels, Big tech (I recall Yahoo email got hacked TWICE, that we know of), and of course, ELECTRINIC HEALTHCARE RECORDS… the list goes on…

(I imagine that they got ALMOST ALL OF US, somewhere, somehow)
