Representative Frost [DC Hearing]: A black man was lynched in broad daylight, and the Washington DC City Council took action to make public safety work for everybody, and now republicans on this committee are pissed about it.

Representative Grothman [Hearing on DC]: If I have a visitor come here from another country…is there anywhere [in DC} that I shouldn't be walking tonight [due to crime]?

Mendelson [DC Council]: If somebody is visiting and they ask if there is any place that they can't go, that's not safe, I can't think of a neighborhood I would say that they can't go.

[Anacostia? Stadium area? Brentwood? Columbia Heights? There are countless areas that are incredibly dangerous]

Crockett [Hearing on DC]: The majority of the media and the country is sitting around and waiting on multiple indictments, for the twice-impeached, former president…if we're gonna talk about violent criminals, let;s talk about the fact that the person that was occupying the White House is the one that caused an insurrection.

Goldman [DC Hearing]: The fact that my colleague…has a few anecdotal examples of crime, does not mean that this topic is worth an entire hearing for this oversight committee.

Gosar [Hearing on DC]: The DC Council voted in 2020 to permanently rename a street adjacent to the White House, 'black lives matter plaza'…black lives matter is violently anti-police. They are a race-baiting cartel that has racketeered billions of dollars. Do you know how many deaths and billions of dollars in damages were cause by black lives matter and antifa protests in 2020?

Mendelson [DC Council]: I don't know, but it wasn't named after the organization, it was named after the concept of black lives matter.

Gosar: Would you name a plaza after a group that contributed to the deaths of eighteen people and two billion dollars in damages?

Mendelson: No, but we didn't.

Moskowitz: I want to thank the majority for finding the time to fit this hearing in between attending former president Donald Trump's memorial service to David Koresh just last week, who was a real advocate for young girls in this country.
