there are federal regs that require firearms major components be MANUFACTURED in the USA. major components are defined and described (ex: barrel, hammer, trigger, sear) and be completely manufactured in the United States. these requirements have driven FOREIGN manufactures to move operations stateside to compete. These requirements are generally for police and military contracts, as well as certain protected civilian uses. foreign made guns ARE imported, and only recently with the trump tariffs have these become slightly less attractive.
