Humor this slightly inebriated, possibly temporarily enlightened Anon…
It occured to me this evening that Donald Trump's indictment (and the reason for it) is insanely similar to another figure in human history. In the Old Testament book of Judges (chapters 13-16)… there is an account of man named Samson who possessed supernatural strength and fabulous hair. It was rumored that his hair was somehow tied to his unnatural strenghth and he even swore an oath to God regarding his hair routine… (I'm not making this up.. go read the story). It was said that he was the strongest man alive… at least everyone was saying so at the time. He even killed a lion with his bare hands. He was strong. He was discplined. He was a teetotaller… no booze. No drugs. All business. A winner.
Stick with me…
Unfortunately, Samson also had a supernatural weakness… a particular weakness. A weakness for the opposite sex. It was said that he was particularly prone to pinching the parts of people of other persuasions… especially those named Delilah. Anyway…that is what people were saying. Unfortunately, his great weakness allowed enemies and traitors to creep into his camp. Ultimately, the traitors surrounding him deceived him and shaved his head… confirming the rumor that the source of his strength was indeed the locks of hair and the underlying oath. Sapped of his strength, he was easily arrested and forced to stand trial where he was publicly humiliated, brutally beaten, eyes gouged out…etc of eyesight (again… go read the story. it is Rated R for violence and gore). The legendary strong man was rendered impotent. A non-threat. So… is Trump the reincarnation of Samson? A simpleton horn-dog who couldn't see past his own… weakness?
Maybe… stick with me…
Turns out, that was not quiet the end of the story… well actually it was the end of the story.. but with a really big footnote. A HUGE footnote. Despite Samson's weakness, he remained loyal and faithful to God. He never deliberately betrayed his oath to God (even though the traitors around him effectively did so). In his final excruciating and humiliating moments standing trial… he prayed to God to restore his strength one last time… and God found favor on him (seriously… go read the story). In his death, Samson brought down judgement on the entire ruling class of the time. He is considered a Prophet. All of those elites who crashed against Samson, and his people, and his God… they all died at the hands of Samson that day. So did Samson.
I honestly don't know how to feel about this… now that I have seen it. Perhaps God still uses imperfect people to accomplish His plan? And it doesn't always work out for the best (in this life) for those he chooses.
Maybe someone else has already noticed this? Maybe I am late to the game? Is this a thing? Am I the only that sees the crazy parallels? Have I had tee-many-martoonis?
