>How far away is the closest star?

As I explained before, this assumes the current geocentric model of the universe, which has been taught since the 1500's and appears to be wrong (NASA is hiding data).

Pre-1500, the Church taught that the Earth was the physical center of the Universe and does not move. This appears to be correct, based on CMB data.

This is the helicentric model of the Universe. Tyco Brache introduced this in the 1500's, a model that works, where the Sun revolves around the Earth (don't gasp now, it does work).

Under this model, the nearest star is 25 times CLOSER, about .17 of a light year.
