I came out of basic in 2004 with 3 ribbons and 2 weapon medals
times are different
some guys don't even have a combat patch from OIF 1…used to be you had to do 9 - 12 consecutive months to receive it, now they give it with orders
same goes with ribbons / awards ….different criteria for different reasons
