It looks to me like this track was sabotaged..and what's worse, is nobody from Union Pacific caught it, even though they have warning signals if a track breaks, and sure a fuck the conductor would here it. Something very suspect about this.

Well, a broken track would have put off a warning signal. Someone either ignored it, or disconnected it, because they can tell when a train is rolling down the track by the electricity it generates. A broken track breaks the circuit,

It's not a break, it's a cut, a plasma torch is about the only thing that could cut a rail like that.
And a plasma torch takes out about that amount of material.
The bigger question is, why weren't the broken rail signals set off?
I think a broken rail signal would shut all trains down automatically. Especially when they are hauling fracking fluids. Shit is very volatile.
No, the signal is very weak, an the electron area of the track is quite significant. And the first car to go over it would break any jumper.
But why would someone jumper a track to trick the signal?
