Alvin Bragg is attempting to fabricate a non-existent crime in order to fit these charges into the felony level. He must do this because as misdemeanors, the statute of limitations is 2 years. As a felony, 5 years. But that requires them to be in furtherance of covering up A CRIME.

What crime? He claims he does not have to specify a crime or provide it. How is that possible? It cannot be State law on elections because Federal Election laws preempt State laws. This is due to the Supremacy Clause of the US constitution.

So what crime was covered up? Must be a federal election violation but he has NO JURISDICTION to prosecute such a crime.

Matthew Colangelo is the former Deputy Assistant to Barack Obama and he is the man running Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg now. He is 100% behind this Donald Trump indictment.

Couple of easy points: 1. The statute of limitations is violated, which may get this case tossed in its face. 2. The second crime, which is required to raise this misdemeanor to a felony, doesn’t apply under these circumstances and isn’t even fully explained. This is very sloppy work. Frankly, even left wing lawyers are going to struggle to defend this. Huge win for Trump to have such incompetent foes.
