they're just trying to sell us cheaper products under the guise of 'eco-friendly'. in Canada we have a popular chain of coffee and donut shops called Tim Hortons. they started using those eco-friendly cups / lid and they start leaking coffee sometimes, lid doesn't fasten onto cup properly, etc. selling us garbage, at the same price, to make higher profits. what a disaster.

i live in a very wealthy city and during / after covid many of my favorite reasonably-priced and high-quality stores were replaced with China-offshoots with much lower quality products but for the same price? can't even find a spray bottle in a dollar store that doesn't stop working after a few uses. better just spend 2-3 more dollars and go to home depot.

if they could turn radioactive waste into tooth paste they'd prob sell us that too.
