Seems like Comms. Peter Pan Pedo symbolism with Dark Disney is Less Magical with the LIGHTS ON!
Peter Pan ride breaks down at Disneyland, looks far less magical with lights on
If you’ve always wanted a behind-the-scenes glimpse of what happens at Disneyland, now’s your chance. A TikToker shared a video of what it looked like after an attraction broke down mid-ride, and people seem truly fascinated by it.
User @awkward_andy shared the clip after a recent visit to the Disneyland theme park in Anaheim, Calif., when things went awry. After Peter Pan’s Flight suddenly came to a halt, operators turned on the lights to investigate the problem, which instantly killed the whole vibe.
The room, formerly pitch black as riders flew through the sky in tiny pirate ships, was suddenly flooded with light that exposed the mechanicals all around them. A mini-model of Neverland looked decidedly less magical.
Up in one corner, there’s even a message scrawled in black magic marker that seems very un-Disney-like. It reads: “Bill Sucks.”
In the comments, a lot of people shared similar experiences at Disney Parks.
“Got stuck on that one over a decade ago,” one person recalled, adding that it was “30 minutes of ‘HELP ME MR SMEE HELP ME,'” followed by, “I’m comic capn.'”
“Got stuck on space mountain and the lights came on,” someone else shared. “Not sure what I expected but not just a regular rollercoaster.”
“We broke down on the Winnie the Pooh ride,” yet another person wrote. “Had to exit out of the car in the ride. Magic was gone. Wamp wamp.”
Not everyone found the experience to be a negative one, though.
“Not gonna lie, I always loved when the ride broke down, and I could spend more time in it,” one person confessed. “Especially if the lights had to come on!”
Others simply wanted to know who Bill was and why he allegedly sucks so much.
This isn’t the first time a TikToker has captured what it looks like when the lights come on at Disney.
In 2021, another video went viral for revealing a unique view of the Rock n’ Rollercoaster at Disney World’s Hollywood Studios, which continued its full course despite the lights being on.
The rare footage, captured by the account @everythingdisney133, left some viewers feeling “uncomfortable.”
However, much like the Peter Pan video, there were plenty of people who said they enjoy when something like this happens.
“I love when I get to ride with the lights on,” one TikToker wrote. “Unless it’s Space Mountain. Space Mountain is terrifying when you realize how close the tracks are.”
