I remember reading that if a person was really enlightened (under some form of Buddhism, there are many different ones) that they do not reincarnate anymore.
so that, to me, would mean that under those rules (I am not a Buddhist, and really have thought this through a long time ago)
then someone like the Dali Lama, who keeps getting reincarnated is a 'stuck soul'.
so if that were true why would the people think it's so important to have him as their leader unless, they, too, are all stuck and not growing. learning, or finding enlightenment?
and by them seeking him out, maybe they guarantee that the remains stuck.
