>So when exactly do people start waking up?
When the seeds planted in their minds grow roots (deep unconscious) and sprout to the point where it reaches their conscious mind. They respond when that seed is gently watered (remember the "fake news" during the campaign?)
>seed planted
fertile ground: most people know the "news" lies to some degree, they are smarmy, arrogant , preachy assholes
>brought up again, with an example: fake (narrative framing) vs reality
gently watered; not full blast in front of a firehose, but the mist setting on your garden hose sprayer
When multiple, intersecting seeds are planted what happens? Those roots intermingle. Some sprout earlier than others as the roots have to become established and some people's minds are heavy, sticky clay. But soon, there are sprouts (reaching the conscious mind) and that person starts asking YOU questions
>Hey, remember when you mentioned X? What happened with that again?
Or they start questioning quietly and using the interwebz. This is where memetic warfare helps. It both plants the seeds and waters them. It provides that refreshing sunshine and light misting moisture for the tender sprout to burst through and say that magical phrase: "EVERYTHING I'VE BEEN TAUGHT WAS A LIE!?!?"
Then they have to lurk for 2 years on 8/pol/ before posting :)
