carbon credits are to allow for a hidden feudal system where land owners get to live for free without having to do anything, but just collect their carbon credits by driving off all other human activity and leaving the land fallow, disallowing farming or forestry, and preventing any equitible use of the land, and not sharing with the population.
and they can tell their children 'we do this to save the world' and children will believe it and continue doing it, and the aristocracy can have their fuedalism and keep ruling over everyone else, who will essentially be slaves in the new system.
