Illicit firearms: Operation Trigger IX nets 14,260 arrests across Latin America
Drugs worth USD 5.7 billion also seized in INTERPOL-led operation targeting key trafficking routes and organized crime groups
LYON, France – In the biggest firearms operation ever coordinated by INTERPOL, authorities in Central and South America have made 14,260 arrests and seized some 8,263 illicit firearms, as well as 305,000 rounds of ammunition.
With illicit firearms used by criminals to commit armed robberies and murder, they are also closely associated with the proliferation of a wide range of other crimes using the same trafficking routes.
The links between illicit firearms and drug manufacturing and trafficking were thrown into sharp relief, with the seizure of 203 tonnes of cocaine and other drugs together worth some USD 5.7 billion, and 372 tonnes of drug precursors during Operation Trigger IX (12 March – 2 April).
Law enforcement across INTERPOL’s 195 member countries have reported record drug seizures in the past year and, in many cases, a spike in drug-related violence, fueled by the traffic of illegal firearms.
The operation, which saw an unprecedented level of cooperation across 15 countries, also identified a range of other crimes such as corruption, fraud, human trafficking, environmental crime and terrorist activities.

Bill Gates Plows Millions into Group Claiming Kids Are ‘Sexual Beings’
Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates has invested tens of millions of dollars into a radical nongovernmental organization (NGO) that is pushing for young children to be considered “sexual beings.”
Not to be confused with the pro-abortion organization, the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) is a group that campaigns for kids to be sexualized from an early age.
IPPF claims that children are “born sexual” and lobbies for children under 10 years of age to be taught about “commercial sex work.”
The NGO wields significant influence on global sex education and comprises 120 independent organizations in over 146 countries.
The organization, including its European network, has received over $80 million from Gates.
Other significant donors included the World Health Organization (WHO).
In 2017, the NGO released a toolkit showing an insight into how it teaches sex education to children around the world.
The shocking toolkit was first flagged by Nicole Solas of the Independent Women’s Forum.
“Sexual activity may be part of different types of relationships, including dating, marriage, or commercial sex work, among others,” IPPF said about what children under 10 should be taught.
The toolkit said that children under 10 should also be told: “As you grow up, you might start to be interested in people with diverse gender identities.”
The IPPF suggested in multiple instances that children are “born sexual.”
Children under 10 should be taught that “Sexuality is a part of you from the moment you are born.
“Your sexuality develops and changes throughout your life.”
“[S]ex positivity acknowledges that human beings, including adolescents and young people, are autonomous sexual beings,” the NGO adds.
According to the NGO, sex educators should have an “Understanding of young people as sexual beings.”
“[A]ll people are sexual beings with sexual rights, regardless of their age,” the NGO said.
The IPPF continues by declaring that “Sexual rights include… the right to say yes or no to sex; the right to express sexuality, including the right to seek pleasure; the right to enjoy bodily autonomy…”
Despite the fact that IPPF defined a child as under the age of 18, per the UN’s Convention of the Rights of a Child, the toolkit excluded weighing on the approximate age of a child’s ability to consent with an adult.
It stated, “Member Associations are encouraged to use existing evidence to assess the best age parameters for their local context.”
The curriculum said that kids under 10 should be aware of a general rule that “No one can touch you if you don’t want them to.”
“During childhood, children should learn about the basic social conventions of privacy, nudity, and respect for others in relationships, so they can identify situations where their right to safety is being violated.”
Gates donated to the organization years before and years after the 2017 report on young children being “sexual beings” was released.
The IPPF organization was originally created by a eugenicist and pro-abortion population-control group Planned Parenthood’s original founder, Margaret Sanger, in the 1950s.

This morning, news broke that police have seized a phone belonging to Julia Wendell, who went viral on social media for claiming she was missing British toddler Madeleine McCann.
It has now been revealed that Dr Fia Johansson, a private investigator and psychic medium who brought Wendell to the US, has handed over the phone to Californian police after filing a report alleging a phone Wendell had left behind with her in California after the DNA test appeared to contain explicit images of children.
Dr Johansson told The Sun: 'Police are taking this very seriously and have assured me that a full investigation will be done,' and added that Orange County police have told her the phone would be passed on to law enforcement in Germany and Poland.
Wendell has denied these claims and said she already spoke to police in Poland about this.
Wendell also spoke to The Sun and said: 'I didn't have child pornography on my phone. I am not a pedophile. I am a victim of a pedophile.'

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi warned on Tuesday that any hostile move from Israel “will lead to the destruction of Haifa and Tel Aviv.” Speaking at an annual military parade, Raisi called on the US and other “extra-regional” forces to leave the Middle East for their own benefit.
Delivering his remarks as armored vehicles rolled by and fighter jets flew overhead, Raisi marked Iran’s annual Army Day by proclaiming that “the smallest hostile move” from the “Zionist regime” in Israel will “lead to the destruction of Haifa and Tel Aviv,” according to Iran’s Tasnim news agency.
Iranian leaders often use Army Day to make bombastic threats against Israel and the US. Last year, Raisi issued a similar warning, saying that Iran’s armed forces would target “the center of the Zionist regime” if Israel made “the tiniest move against the nation of Iran.”
However, this year’s speech came amid higher-than-usual tensions between the two regional powers. Iran blamed Israel for drone attacks on a military plant in February, while Israel accused Iran of violating its airspace with an unmanned aircraft earlier this month. Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has repeatedly warned that Iran is on the verge of enriching weapons-grade uranium, declaring last month that a “horrible nuclear war” would ensue if Iran developed atomic weapons.
Tehran denies that it is seeking a nuclear weapon, and has reportedly rejected efforts by the US to talk it back into a deal where it would freeze enrichment in exchange for sanctions relief.
In Tuesday’s speech, Raisi singled out the US as a destabilizing force in the Middle East. “The extra-regional and American forces must leave the region as soon as possible, because it will be to the benefit of themselves and the region,” he said.
While Saudi Arabia is often a target of Tehran’s rhetoric, Raisi’s speech made no mention of Riyadh. The president did, however, say that Iran’s armed forces “warmly shake the hand of regional nations” willing to cooperate on issues of mutual security, likely a reference to the recent Chinese-brokered detente between the two countries.
