A video has surfaced online in which warmongers John McCain and Lindsey Graham are caught meeting with the Ukraine military, encouraging them to launch an offensive against Russia and restart hostilities, all the while describing Russia as the “aggressor” that must “pay a heavier price.”

Lindsey Graham delivers an incendiary speech in the video, egging on the Ukranian troops to re-start hostilities with Russia.

“Your fight is our fight, 2017 will be the year of offense. All of us will go back to Washington and we will push the case against Russia. Enough of a Russian aggression. It is time for them to pay a heavier price.”

John McCain was no less provocative:

Eight U.S. senators will travel to Ukraine on Thursday to meet with leaders of its interim government and other groups, Senate aides said on Wednesday, amid tensions over Russia's efforts to annex Ukraine's Crimean region.

Arizona Republican SenatorJohn McCainwill lead the group, which includes his fellow Republican SenatorsJohn Barrasso of Wyoming, John Hoeven of North Dakota, Ron Johnson of Wisconsin and Jeff Flakeof Arizona.

Three Democratic senators are also going:Richard Durbin of Illinois, Christopher Murphy of Connecticut and Sheldon Whitehouseof Rhode Island.

McCain and Murphy, who is chairman of the Senate's European subcommittee, traveled to Ukraine's capital, Kiev, in December and addressed anti-government demonstrators during protests that helped lead to the ouster of former President Viktor Yanukovich.

Iran prepared to ‘destroy Tel Aviv’ – president

The latest anti-Israel invective came amid heightened tensions between the Jewish state and the Islamic Republic

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi warned on Tuesday that any hostile move from Israel “will lead to the destruction of Haifa and Tel Aviv.” Speaking at an annual military parade, Raisicalled on the US and other “extra-regional” forces to leave the Middle East for their own benefit.

Delivering his remarks as armored vehicles rolled by and fighter jets flew overhead, Raisi marked Iran’s annual Army Day by proclaiming that “the smallest hostile move” from the “Zionist regime” in Israel will “lead to the destruction of Haifa and Tel Aviv,” according to Iran’s Tasnim news agency.

Iranian leaders often use Army Day to make bombastic threatsagainst Israel and the US. Last year, Raisi issued a similar warning, saying that Iran’s armed forces would target “the center of the Zionist regime” if Israel made “the tiniest move against the nation of Iran.”

However, this year’s speech came amid higher-than-usual tensions between the two regional powers. Iran blamed Israel for drone attacks on a military plant in February, while Israel accused Iran of violating its airspace with an unmanned aircraft earlier this month. Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has repeatedly warned that Iran is on the verge of enriching weapons-grade uranium, declaring last month that a “horrible nuclear war” would ensue if Iran developed atomic weapons.

Tehran denies that it is seeking a nuclear weapon, and has reportedly rejected efforts by the US to talk it back into a deal where it would freeze enrichment in exchange for sanctions relief.

In Tuesday’s speech, Raisi singled out the US as a destabilizing force in the Middle East. “The extra-regional and American forces must leave the region as soon as possible, because it will be to the benefit of themselves and the region,” he said.

While Saudi Arabia is often a target of Tehran’s rhetoric, Raisi’s speech made no mention of Riyadh. The president did, however, say that Iran’s armed forces “warmly shake the hand of regional nations” willing to cooperate on issues of mutual security, likely a reference to the recent Chinese-brokered detente between the two countries.

Tech giant rolls out ‘drone detector’

Kaspersky has announced a suitcase-sized, portable anti-UAV system

Leading Russian software company Kaspersky has developed a portable device fordetecting small drones. The Antidrone Portable is a security product intended for government and commercial use, the company said.

The radio frequency detector weighs less than 5 kg and fits into a rolling suitcase. The operator uses a tablet based on Kaspersky’s Antidrone software to track drones with a graphical interface. The device can determine theexact locationof most drone models within a kilometer-wide radius, along with the position of theiroperator, the company said.

With a battery life of up to two hours, Antidrone Portable can be used to patrol the perimeter of a protected area.

The new product is “another confirmation that we have long been more than an anti-virus company,” general director Eugene Kaspersky said in a statement on Monday.

Kaspersky introduced its Antidrone hardware and software in 2019, with the purpose of helping protect “critical infrastructure, industrial facilities, as well as transport infrastructure and public events from the misuse of drones.”

Vladimir Turov, the head of the Antidrone program, said the portable device was the result of constant research and iteration.

“Unmanned vehicles are evolving and the risks associated with their use are growing,” Turov said, noting that detection is the most difficult part of any drone defense. A small commercial drone is “almost impossible” to detect in a crowd or in dense urban infrastructure, he added.

While drone-mounted cameras have helped professional and amateur filmmakers produce breathtaking imagery over the past decade, it did not take long for the technology to become weaponized. Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS) terrorists used small civilian quadcopters not just for scouting but as suicide bombs during the fighting in Syria. Drones have played a significant role in the Ukraine conflict as well, from scouting and guiding artillery fire to dropping grenades on enemy trenches.

Swedish broadcaster joins Twitter exodus

Sveriges Radio said CEO Elon Musk’s “publicly-funded” label was not the reason it quit the platform

Public broadcaster Sveriges Radio has announced it is leaving Twitter, explaining in a blog post on Tuesday thatits listeners no longer use the platform. “The audience has simply chosen other places to be. And, therefore, Sveriges Radio now chooses to deactivate or delete the last remaining accounts,” the company’s head of social media, Christian Gillinger, wrote.

“For a long time, Sveriges Radio has de-prioritized its presence on Twitter,” he explained, citing the Internet Foundation’s 2022 report ‘Swedes and the Internet’, which revealed only 7% of Swedes use Twitter daily, compared to 53% who use Facebook and 48% who use Instagram.

Gillinger pointed out that the company had also left Twitch and Snapchat and even reduced engagement on the more-popular Facebook, explaining that limited time and resources mean the broadcaster is forced to “opt in and out all the time.”

Indeed, for the last six years, many of its channels’ accounts have been inactive, though some activity is visible across the newsrooms. Going forward, “most accounts” belonging to the company will be deleted, while some will be listed as inactive, and individual employees can remain on the platform if they choose. Sveriges joined Twitter in 2009.

While Gillinger did not blame Twitter’s recent push to label Western public broadcasters as state-backed media for his company’s decision, he acknowledged the “recent turbulence” at the social media behemoth, suggesting that the dramatic reductions in Twitter’s staff could empower bad actors.

“We believe that in the long term it may affect the company’s ability to handle, for example, fake accounts, bots, and misinformation,” he said, explaining “these are factors that also weigh in when we now decide to be editorially inactive on the platform.”

Sweden’s largest radio company joins publicly-funded American news outlets PBS and National Public Radio, both of which announced their departure from Twitter in the past week, citing CEO Elon Musk’s decision to label their accounts as “government-funded media” or “state-backed media.”

Canadian outlet CBC joined the exodus on Monday after receiving a similar label.

In Europe, however, affected accounts including the BBC are labeled as “publicly-funded,” rather than “government-funded,” and the designation did not seem to bother the Swedish broadcaster. “Based on the current definition, it’s a correct description of how Swedish Radio is financed,” Gillinger said.

Pentagon doesn’t know how many documents were leaked – spokeswoman

As new revelations hit the media every day, the Department of Defense told the public to brace for more

The US Department of Defense is still trying to “understand the scope and scale” of a document leak that saw a trove of classified information posted online, a spokeswoman told reporters on Monday.

“We’re going to continue to find documents online,” Pentagon Deputy Press Secretary Sabrina Singh said at a briefing. Singh added that the Pentagondoes not “have a specific number” of leaked documents identified, and that the “scope and scale” of the leak “is something we’re still assessing.”

The documents in question appeared on a Discord server at some point in the last month, before spreading to the wider internet and catching the attention of the mainstream media. The alleged leaker, a 21-year-old airman in the Massachusetts Air National Guard named Jack Teixeira, was arrested by the FBI on Thursday after the New York Times published his identity.

Files allegedly leaked by the suspect revealed that US and NATO special forces were active in Ukraine, that Ukrainian casualties were higher than publicly acknowledged by US officials, that Kiev’s forces were low on ammunition, and that the US has spied on its allies throughout the conflict. US officials have dismissed many of the leaked files as fake or doctored.

The same media outlets – the New York Times and the Washington Post – that printed the leaker’s identity have continued to publish information from the documents following his arrest. Files from the leak cited by Newsweek on Sunday revealed the purported start date of Ukraine’s forthcoming spring offensive against Russian forces.

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin has responded to the leak byannouncingan internal security review in order to “prevent this kind of incident from happening again,” the closest a top defense official has come to confirming the documents’ authenticity. Previously, the Pentagon would only say that some of the files “appear … similar in format” to its intelligence briefings. (WTH, why aren’t they all over this, why do they have to announce it, the way they work it will take them six months to learn,some asshole left the docs on the cafeteria tableand someone took it home! Not even close to an unbelievable theory though.)

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told journalists on Friday that Moscow had looked into the leaked documents. Earlier, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov suggested that some of the files could have been leaked as part of a Western “deception” campaign aimed at downplaying Ukraine’s military capabilities ahead of Kiev’s rumored offensive.

Mark Levin Reveals J6 Committee Subpoenaed His Private Emails

This is one of those little sidebar stories that will likely not gain much attention but should. We need more information, obviously, but in the big picture it appears the January 6th Committee used their self-granted subpoena power to gain the personal emails of radio and Fox News host Mark Levin.

A congressional committee capable of gaining the private communication of an American citizen,without the target knowing the emails were provided is alarming. The immediate question is how was it done, and what provider turned over the content?

The Fourth Amendment specifies, “The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.” Who granted the warrant, how was it granted? Or was the demand to the provider an outcome of a national security letter, or FISA approach?

Having been targeted by these J6 subpoenas myself, I am very interested in how the corrupt and manipulated mechanics of this privacy intrusion worked. How was the committee able to gain access without Mark Levin’s knowledge? We already know the U.S. government has been weaponized, and we need to know the details of how they carried out this operation. Hopefully Levin will give more details soon.
