Bomb squad responding after explosion in Seattle apartment building

After receiving reports of an explosion, the Seattle Fire Department (SFD) is evacuating a building on 1st Avenue North on Wednesday morning.
Around 9:30 a.m., the SFD reported that firefighters arrived to an apartment building in the 100 block of 1st Avenue North and discovered a victim with critical injuries.
According to the SFD, 911 callers within the building reported hearing an explosion within a basement unit.
As a precaution, firefighters are evacuating the building, and HazMat crews are on the scene.
Police are investigating the explosion. According to the Seattle Police Department (SPD) one victim was located with a non-life-threatening injury.
The SPD instructed residents to stay out of the area and to expect traffic delays.
