Anons, I thought I would share this little exchange that I had with my FIL the other day with the board - maybe there's an avenue of hope here. My FIL is conservative, but he get's his news from FOX and the usual "right" suspects.

So he was on about something the news said, and I responded that I don't beleive anything that any TV/print news said. I told him they were all liars. He defended "his" news sources, so I asked him if he ever knew of any circumstances when his sources lied to him. He said "yes".

So I asked him if that was the case, then how did he differentiate their lies from the truth? He responded that he knew when whatever the story was affected him directly in some way.

So then I asked him if that were true, then why did he need the news at all?

Well, whatever that exchange did to him, it shut him up for a while. I seent him stewing on it, too. So maybe it helps, I dunno…
