What Was Operation Pineapple Express In Afghanistan?
With the increasing violence and complete takeover of the Taliban in Afghanistan on 15th August, an all-volunteer group of Afghan war veterans launched a highly dangerous mission, "Pineapple Express," to evacuate a number of Afghan elite forces along with their families whose lives and safety was at risk.
Several military personnel were injured in the twin bombs at Kabul airport while the operation was underway. At least 13 U.S. service members were killed, including 10 US Marines, a Navy corpsman, an Army soldier, and another service member as they worked to safely evacuate the remaining Americans in Afghanistan.
