Anon is ever hopeful that we will see a return to local production using traditional methods of farming without the "frankenstein" agro methodologies we have come to see used since the second World War.
The benefits are obvious from nutrition, taste and transportation costs and storage.
Sure, they may be more labour intensive, but the cost benefits to both local industry and consumers should far outweigh the cons associated with small scale production..

Anon made home made pizza last night with anon's home made sauce made with fried onion, garlic, Italian tomatoes, oregano and tomato puree, home made pizza crust, sausage, calabresa sausage, bacon, green pepper, black and green olives and mozzarella. It was fucking awesome! IMHO, it lacked anchovies.
As for authentic pizza, the most amazing pizza anon has ever eaten was in Napoli and was a simple Margareta cooked in a traditional wood-fired pizza oven. Motherfucker, the flavour!
