My Pillow's Mike Lindell ordered to pay $5 million to software expert who debunked election claims

The panel said the My Pillow CEO would have to pay after the expert, a two-time Trump voter, was able to successfully prove that Lindell's data had no relation to Chinese election interference.

My Pillow CEO and founder Mike Lindell has been ordered by an arbitration panel to pay $5 million to a software forensics expert who debunked claims that China interfered in the 2020 presidential election in a "Prove Mike Wrong" contest.

Lindell presented the challenge in 2021 at a South Dakota "cyber symposium," in which he said he had data that would support his claims that China interfered in the election and he offered the prize to anyone who could demonstrate the data was not connected, The New York Times reported.

The American Arbitration Association panel said Wednesday that the My Pillow CEO would have to pay after the expert, two-time Trump voter Robert Zeidman, was able to successfully prove that the data had no relation to Chinese election interference.

"A false narrative about election fraud is just really damaging to this country," Zeidman said Thursday. He filed the arbitration claim in November 2021 after the organizers of the contest rejected his analysis.

Ex-top spy admits Hunter Biden laptop letter designed to influence 2020 election, Blinken involved

Extraordinary admission by career intelligence officer Michael J. Morell provides stunning evidence that the now-infamous letter from 51 security officials in October 2021 was not an organic intelligence community event but rather a political dirty trick.

A former acting CIA director has admitted to Congress that he organized the letter that falsely portrayed Hunter Biden's laptop as Russian disinformation in an effort to influence the 2020 election in favor of Joe Biden and that he did so at the direction of current Secretary of State Antony Blinken, according to a letter released Thursday by House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan.

The extraordinary admission by career intelligence officer Michael J. Morell provides stunning evidence that the now-infamous letter from 51 security officials in October 2021 was not an organic intelligence community initiative but rather a political dirty trick originating with Blinken and the Biden campaign.

Jordan sent a letter demanding Blinken answer a series of questions about Morell's stunning testimony, as lawmakers weighed the enormity of America's top diplomat being willing to accuse a nuclear-armed superpower of interfering in the 2020 election without evidence. That letter included major snippets of Morell's testimony.

Morell, who retired as deputy CIA director after a long and storied career and served as its acting chief, was on the short list in fall 2020 to be Biden's CIA director when he became involved in the letter. He ultimately did not receive the job.

In a transcribed interview with the House Judiciary government weaponization subcommittee, Morell admitted he got involved with the letter at Blinken's request and later received a call from the Biden campaign thanking him when Joe Biden used the letter and its false implication to blunt criticism of Hunter Biden's foreign business dealings

The transcript of Morell's interview showed he had no intent to write the statement and that Blinken's "call triggered" his actions.

The same day Blinken reached out to Morell, an article was published in USA Today alleging that the FBI was looking into the laptop as part of a "disinformation campaign."

"Morell testified that his communication with you was one of a few communications he had with the Biden campaign, explaining that he also received a call from Steve Ricchetti, Chairman of the Biden campaign, following the October 22 debate to thank him for writing the letter," Jordan wrote Blinken.

You can read the letter here:

Included in Jordan's letter was Morell's recollection of the call.

"After the debate — I think it was after the debate — in fact, I'm pretty sure it was after the debate — I got a phone call from Jeremy Bash, who I work with at Beacon and who is active politically," Morrell told the Committee. "And Jeremy said: Do you have a minute to talk to Steve Ricchetti? I said: Of course. He was the head of the Biden campaign at the time. And Jeremy got him on the line, and Steve thanked me for putting the statement out. And that was the extent of the conversation."

He also testified that the Biden campaign team coordinated to release the statement on the laptop to a specific reporter at the Washington Post and admitted that he got involved to help give Biden a leg up on Trump during the debates.

‘Unfit To Lead’: Pro-Life Groups Blast Trump For Saying Abortion Should Be Left To The States

Multiple pro-life groups criticized former President Donald Trump for opposing a federal abortion ban in statements issued Thursday.

Trump spokesperson Steven Cheung told the Washington Post on Thursday that he believed the legality of abortion should be decided at the state level.

“Any candidate who does not vocally support a federal ban to stop the abortion genocide has not earned the support of the pro-life movement,” Terrisa Bukovinac, founder and executive director of Progressive Anti-Abortion Uprising (PAAU), told the Daily Caller. “Trump and other Republicans cowering in the face of literal child killing makes them totally unfit to lead. We will not allow both parties to turn their backs on the unborn.”

Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America released a statement shortly after Trump’s comments went public, saying the group would “oppose any presidential candidate who refuses to embrace at a minimum a 15-week national standard to stop painful late-term abortions while allowing states to enact further protections.”

Kristen Hawkins, president of Students for Life Action, echoed SBA Pro-Life in a statement posted to Twitter.

“The Pro-Life Generation will not support any candidate for President who doesn’t agree that abortion is a federal, state and local issue,” Hawkins wrote. “To be clear, any federal candidate running for office must support at MINIMUM a federal heartbeat abortion protection act to earn our votes.”

Trump expressed strong support for a ban on abortions after the 20th week of pregnancy in 2018, saying it would “help to facilitate the culture of life to which our nation aspires.” In 2016, Trump said that women who obtain abortions should face “some sort of punishment.”

Pr0-life groups criticized the president in January for comments he made blaming pro-lifers who supported “No Exceptions” bans on abortion for Republican losses in the 2022 midterm elections.

“It was the ‘abortion issue,’ poorly handled by many Republicans, especially those that firmly insisted on No Exceptions, even in the case of Rape, Incest, or Life of the Mother, that lost large numbers of Voters,” Trump wrote on Truth Social at the time.

Lachlan Murdoch drops defamation proceedings against Crikey

The media scion has discontinued his defamation case against the online news outlet, days after Fox News settled a separate US defamation suit.

Murdoch’s lawyer, John Churchill, said in a statement on Friday that a notice of discontinuance had been filed in the Federal Court.

In the latest iteration of its defence to Murdoch jnr’s defamation claim, Crikey’s publisher Private Media had alleged the chief executive of Fox Corporation and co-chairman of News Corp was “morally and ethically” culpable for the deadly 2021 US Capitol riots.

Private Media was attempting to use testimony by Lachlan Murdoch and his media mogul father Rupert in Dominion Voting Systems’ US lawsuit as part of its defence to the Australian case.

Churchill referred to the Dominion litigation and said: “Crikey has tried to introduce thousands of pages of documents from a defamation case in another jurisdiction, which has now settled.

“Mr Murdoch remains confident that the court would ultimately find in his favour, however he does not wish to further enable Crikey’s use of the court to litigate a case from another jurisdiction that has already been settled and facilitate a marketing campaign designed to attract subscribers and boost their profits.”

Murdoch jnr will be liable to pay Crikey’s legal costs. However, the media outlet set up a crowdfunding campaign to help pay for its legal costs and will not be able to recover this money twice. As at Friday morning, the GoFundMe campaign had raised $588,735.

Murdoch filed Federal Court defamation proceedings in August last year against Crikey over a June 29, 2022 article naming his family as “unindicted co-conspirators” of Trump following the US Capitol riots in January 2021.

He claimed the article conveys up to 14 false and defamatory meanings including that he “illegally conspired with Donald Trump to incite an armed mob to march on the Capitol” following the 2020 presidential election.

Crikey denied that those meanings were conveyed. However, if the court had found any of the meanings were conveyed and a serious harm test was satisfied, the news outlet was seeking to rely on a new public interest defence.

The Crikey article was deleted on June 30, 2022, a day after it was published, before being reposted on August 15 that year. An amended defence, released publicly by the court last week, added a contextual truth defence for the reposted article.

Crikey had argued that, in addition to any of the meanings alleged by Murdoch junior, the reposted article said he is “morally and ethically culpable for the illegal January 6 attack because Fox News, under his control and management, promoted and peddled Trump’s lie of the stolen election despite Lachlan Murdoch knowing it was false”.
