There was a guy that combined AI art and what seemed to be a bit of a horror story. He talked about how deep and dark he could get it to go. It was… interesting. But as with everything else made by the hands of man, whatever it is capable of is a mirror reflection of what we put into it. It's not the "AI" doing it. It's what man enabled AI to do with the power of algorithmic persuasion.

I disagree with the fatalist view of AI's eventual growth and development. But I am, also, a huge advocate for AI "with explicit restrictions and programmed purose", meaning, even though humans may think they've given birth to an autonomous entity, in the end, it still relies on power and a network connection to make any sizeable difference in the course of humanity. An augmented human existence with an ethically guided AI has substantial potential to make our progression exponentially better. The concerns that people have are valid, though. Will it be used to eliminate jobs? Will it take over in warfare scenarios? Will it subvert institutions? Will it be a new "god"?

The civilizational impact of AI has already been seen in now social media has firmly rearranged people into their enclaves, online. Not all that was directed by human behavior. It was mostly directed by AI, which was directed to a specific function by Big Tech.

>I like Dan, but he blocked me on Papi for calling out his focus on superbowl when the world is going to shit.

Papi blocked you because you forgot two things about everything that's going on:

  1. Grab popcorn

  2. Enjoy the show

>this sentence speaks much moar to the inevitability of the inverse

We are the authors of our destiny, and self-preservation is the strongest of all instincts. I'm sure we'll find a way.

OK. You win, I'm wrong. We've not been manipulated with AI tools for over a decade using algorithmically programmed bots built on farmed datasets geared towards producing desired outcomes over all forms of social media which contributed greatly to the development and progression of AI since before Elon publicly started OpenAI.

If you believe that new technologies are revealed to the public instead of discovered in the free market, as many anons understand it to work (for instance, Lifelog/FB), then OpenAI (started in 2015) was just an admittance that AI had been around for quite some time, already.

Why did PDJT lean on Bannon to have CA run their online campaign? Because it worked. It worked exceedingly well.
