A federal judge in Virginia is fighting for full custody of his two young daughters after his high society ex-wife was arrested at a hotel where she allegedly planned to sexually assault an eight-year-old girl, DailyMail.com can exclusively reveal.

Eleanor Hunton Hoppe, 45, a member of one of Virginia's most prominent families, was snared in an FBI sting last month after messaging an undercover agent explicit and sickening details about what she wanted to do to the child, according to court filings.

The mother-of-two – who has been charged with child porn and child sex abuse offenses – is also accused of sending the agent a 30-second video and three still images of young minor girls being horrifically sexually abused by men.

Her arrest has stunned communities in Charlottesville, where she lives, and in Richmond where she grew up amid wealth and prestige as a member of a legal powerhouse family who helped found the city's biggest law firm, now known as Hunton, Andrews, Kurth.

She had previously worked in child advocacy and support organizations and was a volunteer at her prestigious local Episcopal church in Charlottesville that is affiliated with the University of Virginia, DailyMail.com can reveal.

Hunton Hoppe is currently locked up in Washington DC and faces life behind bars if convicted of three federal crimes: Distributing child porn, enticement of a minor and attempted transportation of a minor with attempt to engage in sexual activity.

Now DailyMail.com can also reveal her ex-husband, federal judge Joel Hoppe, is fighting for full custody of their daughters aged 10 and 12, citing the shocking allegations against the mom in his legal documents.

The ex spouses had previously agreed to joint physical custody in May 2021 after a messy divorce battle – during which the magistrate judge accused his ex-wife of hunting for sex with other men and women.

Peters and Dorothy St. John Durrette Peters; two brothers, Peyton Patmore Peters and Michael Cromwell Peters; a daughter, Ellen Coleman Peters; his wife, Polly Davis Coleman Peters; and a stepson, The Rev. Dr. Thomas Lee Jenkins. Dr. Peters is survived by his wife of 22 years, Sally Irene Harman Peters; a son, Philip Barton Peters and his wife, Karen; two daughters, Mary Beverley Hunton and her husband, Eppa, and Susan Davis Miller; two sisters, Gayle Patmore Emerson and her husband, Keith, and Mary Beaumont Peters. He is also survived by two beloved nephews, Lawrence Emerson and his wife, Ellen, and Philip Emerson and his wife, Beth, and their children, Katherine and Peyton; a nephew, Stuart Peters; and a cousin and namesake, Philip Musick Mulford, his wife, Lisa, and their children, Philip and Preston.
