Pro DeSantis super PAC calls for Trump to leave Florida after he called it 'among the worst states'

"The state of Florida will be better off when Trump takes his Soros-fueled, dumpster fire of a campaign to San Francisco," the CEO of the pro-DeSantis super PAC said.

A pro-Ron DeSantis super PAC offered on Saturday to help pay for former President Donald Trump's move to California after Trump called Florida "among the worst states" to live in.

"Donald Trump has so deeply disparaged the state of Florida by calling it the 'worst state,' we at Never Back Down will help him leave by offering financial assistance to help him move to his beloved California, so he can be close to his good buddy Gavin Newsom, whom he loves so intensely and gets along with so well," Never Back Down CEO Chris Jankowski said in a statement.

"The good news is that since so many people are moving to the state of Florida, thanks to the incredible success of Governor Ron DeSantis, no one will notice when Trump leaves," the statement continued. "The state of Florida will be better off when Trump takes his Soros-fueled, dumpster fire of a campaign to San Francisco, where it will fit right in."

Trump issued a statement Friday, taking a shot at DeSantis's leadership in the Sunshine State, claiming that Florida "has become one of the least affordable states to live in the country."

"Florida has become among the worst states" to "live, find economic opportunity, work, retire, raise a family, pay taxes, be safe, rent a home, have a baby, afford energy, die, be a teacher, be a doctor, [or] be a police officer," the statement continued.

DeSantis is expected to throw his hat into the 2024 presidential race for the GOP nomination, although he hasn't announced his bid yet.

Judge Rules Chicago Employees Fired For Not Getting Vax Must Be Reinstated, Repaid For Lost Wages And Benefits

Chicago residents just got a win against tyranny.

Administrative Law Judge Anna Hamburg-Gal ruled that the City of Chicago violated the Illinois Public Labor Relations Act after imposing the vaccine mandate without negotiating with unions representing the workers.

The Judge said that the city did not bargain in good faith.

The fired workers must now be reinstated and repaid any lost pay and benefits, plus 7% annual interest.

The Chicago Sun Times reported:

Unionized city of Chicago employees fired or disciplined for violating COVID-19 vaccination requirements must be reinstated and repaid for any loss of wages or benefits, a state hearing officer has ruled.

The decision in a case before the Illinois Labor Relations Board applies to city workers represented by trade unions or by the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees. The unions banded together to challenge regulations Mayor Lori Lightfoot imposed starting in 2021.

Administrative Law Judge Anna Hamburg-Gal said the city violated the Illinois Public Labor Relations Act by not bargaining in good faith over vaccine requirements and changes in sick leave policies. Her ruling, issued Wednesday, requires the city to “make whole” workers who lost pay and benefits, plus 7% annual interest.

The ruling is a broad rebuke of Lightfoot’s get-tough policies on city workers who resisted vaccination mandates, but it’s not known how many employees were penalized. One source said a few dozen employees may be directly affected by the decision.

The American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees celebrated the ruling saying, “We think it’s a strong decision and favorable for worker rights generally.”

The Epoch Times reported:

A spokesperson for AFSCME told news outlets: “We think it’s a strong decision and favorable for worker rights generally.”

A spokesperson for the mayor’s office said the ruling “was an erroneous decision that does not follow the law, facts nor importantly the science” and that the city was considering its next steps.

Hopefully, more vaccine mandates are stopped in court!

Whose Side Are They On? Republican Senators Help Dems Advance Biden’s Judicial Nominees

Some Republican Senators are helping advance Joe Biden’s agenda.

Due to the absence of Democrat Senator Dianne Feinstein, who is on medical leave, the Senate Judiciary Committee is tied with ten Democrats and ten Republicans.

This means that without Republican support, Democrats can’t advance judicial nominees.

On Thursday, The Senate Judiciary Committee advanced seven judicial nominees with the help of some Republican Senators.

Republican senators Lindsey Graham, Chuck Grassley, and Mike Lee are among those who voted for Democrat nominees.

The Epoch Times reported:

Republican senators joined Democrat colleagues in advancing multiple judicial nominees from a Senate panel after a weekslong pause due to the absence of a Democrat senator.

The Senate Judiciary Committee discharged seven nominees from President Joe Biden on April 20 as at least one Republican joined all remaining Democrats on the panel.

GOP senators helped advance Jeffrey Cummings and LaShonda Hunt, nominated as U.S. District Court judges for the Northern District of Illinois; Orelia Merchant, nominated as U.S. District Court judge for the Eastern District of New York; Michael Farbiarz and Robert Kirsch, nominated as U.S. District Court judges for the District of New Jersey; and Monica Almadani and Wesley Hsu, nominated as U.S. District Court judges for Central District of California.

Without Republican support, Democrats cannot advance nominees to the full Senate. The judiciary panel is charged with considering nominees offered by Biden. Feinstein voted by proxy for each nominee, but proxy votes are only allowed under committee rules if they are not the deciding vote, CNN reported.

Five nominees who didn’t get bipartisan support were shelved.

The Washington Examiner reported:

Durbin has sought to advance batches of judicial nominees together at one time, regardless of whether they have bipartisan support. He chose to shelve five nominees lacking GOP support, including Michael Delaney to the 1st Circuit Court of Appeals.

Delaney, New Hampshire’s former deputy attorney general, has been criticized by Democratic senators concerned about his handling of a 2015 case in which Delaney requested that an underage sexual assault victim’s identity be unmasked if the suit went to trial.

Other nominees who were tabled include Amanda K. Brailsford, to be U.S. District Judge for the District of Idaho, S. Kato Crews, to be U.S. District Judge for the District of Colorado, and Molly R. Silfen, to the U.S. Court of Federal Claims.

Earlier in the week, an attempt by Democrats to temporarily replace Senator Feinstein was blocked by Republicans.

WA Premier Mark McGowan is quickly turning into Beijing's 'most useful idiot' after his embarrassing hot-mic episode

It's about time we start holding to account a state leader who has a history of denigrating anyone who criticises China, writes Rocco Loiacono.

Footage from the China-Australia Chamber of Commerce event in Beijing caught out Mark McGowan in an embarrassing hot mic episode this week.

The Western Australian Premier was speaking to the Australian Ambassador to China Graham Fletcher and the organisation’s chair Vaughn Barber when he had this to say about the shadow defence minister.

“He swallowed some sort of Cold War pills back… when he was born, and he couldn’t get his mindset out of that.”

Mr Hastie, who served as chair of the Parliamentary Joint Committee on Intelligence and Security from 2017 to 2020 and was assistant defence minister from 2020 to 2022, has been a vocal critic of China’s growing economic coercion and military build-up.

It all begs the question - why was McGowan asked questions about Hastie in the first place, and, why would he be so reckless as to denigrate a senior Australian politician to a foreign power in this way?

The fact is that McGowan has a history of denigrating anyone who criticises China.

The presence of a Chinese spy ship off his state's coast in May last year prompted a stinging rebuke from Australia’s then Defence Minister, Peter Dutton.

This rebuke drew the ire of McGowan, the man who leads a state that is heavily dependent on Chinese demand for raw materials.

The state leader said he did not understand why Dutton would talk about war with Beijing, a concept he described as “frightening”.

Pressed about the issue further, he launched into this tirade.

“I don’t understand why (in) the environment we’re in someone like the Defence Minister of Australia would be so nutty as to say things like that,” Mr McGowan told reporters.

That wasn’t the first time he has offered gratuitous advice to the federal government on how to handle relations with China.

In 2021, prior to then Prime Minister Scott Morrison’s departure for the G7 summit, McGowan made this statement to reporters: “All this language I see coming out of the Commonwealth government about us going to war with China, I have never heard something so insane in my life.

“The idea that somehow we should be promoting the idea of armed conflict with a superpower is madness and I don’t get why there are the senior Commonwealth government officials, why there are defence force officers, why there are senior politicians in the Liberal Party talking about this. It’s absolute madness.”

The following day, responding to a question by the Chinese Communist Party-controlled Beijing Daily, foreign ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian praised McGowan at a regular press conference saying, “The Australian government should heed these constructive opinions."

Indeed.

McGowan has been warning the federal government about provoking China as far back as May 2020, even offering to help rebuild the relationship in December 2020.

Foreign affairs, of course, is the responsibility of federal, not state, governments.
