Planetary K-index hit an 8, currently at 8-. Scale only goes to 9. Not sure what's up. Looks like an earlier CME from the 18th was moving very slow and scooping up material and has made it here now.

The full halo CME from a day ago is about to arrive a couple hours, or maybe it's here early making this a double-whammy. Interesting times.

If it's moving fast enough, it can make it in under a day, but usually it's a 2 - 3 trip. The 18th one took it's sweet time making it in 5 days.

Just saw the auroral influx overpegged at 209.9 GW on a scale of 50 - 200 GW. Lots of juice flowing in. Probably get some grid issues or long line fires with this one. Should last most of the night.

Jumped up to 212.5 GW while I was typing.

Some, for sure. The dino BS is in my opinion BS. It also interacts strongly with silicon and aluminum oxide, both of which are in large concentrations around fault lines. Together with enough juice they interact and produce heat and stress. It's energy, so it gets absorbed and transformed into a lot of stuff.
