Former South Carolina Governor and UN Ambassador Nikki Haley will deliver an anti-abortion speech as she seeks to clinch the Republican nomination in the 2024 presidential race. According to CNN, Haley’s ‘going to make the case that you can be a pro-life conservative Republican and win a general election,’ per a person familiar with the speech.

Haley’s speech comes as Republicans have struggled to maneuver the topic of abortion, which emerged as a key issue in the 2022 midterm election, following the Supreme Court’s overturning of Roe v. Wade. Voters in red states like Kansas and swing states like Wisconsin have shown up to the polls to reject abortion-restricting measures and state Supreme Court candidates endorsed by anti-abortion groups.
