Xi speaks to Zelensky by phone

The call will provide a “powerful” boost to bilateral ties, the Ukrainian leader said

Chinese President Xi Jinping and his Ukrainian counterpart, Vladimir Zelensky, have spoken over the phone, in their first official conversation since Moscow launched its military operation in the neighboring state more than a year ago.

Zelensky tweeted that the dialogue was “long and meaningful.” He said the call, along with the appointment of an ambassador to China, will “give a powerful impetus to the development of ourbilateral relations.”(China is going after their industry! Zelensky is a stupid pawn)

Xi told Zelensky that “dialogue and negotiations are the only viable way out.”

“China will neither watch the fire from the other side, nor add fuel to the fire, let alonetake advantage of the opportunity to make profits,”Xi said, as quoted by the Global Times. The Chinese president urged all sides to remain “calm and restrained” when dealing with the possibility of the conflict spiraling into a larger confrontation. “No one wins a nuclear war,” he said. (The only reason why Xi sets this up is powerful and control, they lie as much as Bidan. Russia should be keeping a keen eye on this. Nothing is what it seems.)

Xi promised to dispatch “a special envoy” to Ukraine and other countries to “conduct in-depth communication” regarding a resolution of the conflict. (The watcher is being sent to undermine the country and the EU. China is not a peacemaker)

In February, Beijing unveiled a 12-point roadmap for peace between Moscow and Kiev, expressing willingness to take part in mediating an end to the hostilities. China, unlike many Western nations, has refused to condemn Russia, its strategic partner, and to impose sanctions on Moscow.

Xi traveled to Moscow last month, where he met with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The leaders vowed to work to increase trade and other areas of cooperation. Xi said that the ties between the two countries have “acquired critical importance for the global landscape and the future of humanity,”according to the Chinese Foreign Ministry.

French President Emmanuel Macron paid a visit to China this month, where he urged Xi to “reason” with Moscow. The Chinese government criticized Russia for attacking Ukraine but also agreed with Moscow that NATO’s expansion near Russia’s western border was one of the core causes of the conflict.

Britons told to accept they are poorer

The Bank of England has warned against workers and companies driving up inflation by playing “pass the parcel”

British households and businesses need to accept that they are worse off andshould stop asking for wage increasesand pushing prices higher, the Bank of England’s chief economist, Huw Pill, said on Tuesday.

According to Pill, “a series of inflationary shocks” generated by thepandemic, the conflict in Ukraine, and crop shortages have sent prices in the UK to a 40-year high. He claimed that in response to surging bills and other rising costs, workers and businesses are attempting to transfer the impact of inflation onto each other.(Liars, not the pandemic, the plan of WEF. Plus UK went into war mode for Ukraine to justify the downturn)

People “try and pass that cost on to one of our compatriots, saying ‘we’ll be all right, but they will have to take our share too,’” Pill argued. He warned that the “pass the parcel game that’s going on here… that game is generating inflation, and that part of inflation can persist.”

Instead, people have to realize that they are poorer because “if the cost of what you’re buying has gone up compared to what you’re selling, you’re going to be worse off,” he said.(OMG I hope this causes a British revolution, if it doesn’t, the country is well on their way to destruction.)

The UK is a largenet importer of natural gas, which has been rising in price more rapidly over the past year than the value of the country’s exports, mainly services, the economist noted.

“So somehow in the UK, someone needs to accept that they’re worse off and stop trying to maintain their real spending power by bidding up prices, whether higher wages or passing the energy costs through on to customers,” he concluded.

Annual inflation in the UK stood at 10.1% in March, driven largely by soaring food prices, while the country’s cost-of-living crisis has shown little sign of abating. Although the inflation rate dipped from 10.4% in February, it fell less than expected and is still well above the Bank of England’s target of 2%.

Fighter jet crashes in northern Russia

Both pilots ejected to safety, the Russian Defense Ministry has said

A Russian MiG-31 fighter jet has crashed during a training flight, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Wednesday. The jet fell in a deserted area, the ministry’s statement said, adding that the incident resulted in no casualties. Videos that surfaced on social media showed flames coming out of the jet as the aircraft was still flying.

One of the jet’s engines caught fire during flight, a source with the Russian security services told TASS, saying that the aircraft “crashed into a lake, according to the preliminary information.” The incident took place some 10 kilometers away from the town of Monchegorsk and around 150 kilometers away from the regional capital of Murmansk.

South Africa remains ICC participant – presidency

President Cyril Ramaphosa misspoke when he claimed the country would withdraw from the court, his spokesman clarified

South Africa remains ICC participant – presidency

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa made a mistake when he said the country would leave the International Criminal Court (ICC), his office said on Tuesday.

“This clarification follows an error in a comment made during a media briefing held by the governing African National Congress (ANC) on South Africa’s status with regard to the ICC,” Ramaphosa’s office said in a statement on its website.

“Regrettably, the President erroneously affirmed a similar position during a media session today.”

The presidency affirmed that South Africa remains a party to the Rome Statute, the ICC’s key document, and will “continue to campaign for equal and consistent application of international law.”

Putin warrant could derail BRICS summit – South Africa READ MORE Putin warrant could derail BRICS summit – South Africa

Ramaphosa suggested pulling out of the court earlier as his country prepares to host a BRICS summit (an informal group that includes Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa) in August. Last month, the ICC issued an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin. The court accused Putin and Russian Children’s Rights Commissioner Maria Lvova-Belova of the “unlawful deportation” of children from “occupied areas of Ukraine.”

The charges refer to Russian efforts to evacuate civilians away from areas – mostly in the predominantly Russian-speaking region of Donbass – that were shelled by the Ukrainian military. Russia, which like the US is not an ICC signatory, has taken in approximately 2.9 million refugees from Ukraine, more than any other country.

Moscow has denied the allegations, maintaining that children were being lawfully evacuated from a combat zone and later reunited with their families when their relatives came forward.

Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Ramaphosa said the ANC “has taken the decision that it is prudent that South Africa should pull out of the ICC largely because of the manner in which the ICC has been seen to be dealing with these types of problems.”

As a party to the ICC, South Africa is supposed to respect the court’s decisions. Russia signed the Rome Statute in 2000 but did not ratify it, and has since withdrawn its signature. The Kremlin said last month that Moscow does not recognize the court’s jurisdiction.

Senior Iranian cleric shot dead – media

Abbas-Ali Soleimani was a member of the Council of Experts, a leading oversight body

Senior Iranian religious leader Abbas-Ali Soleimani was shot dead in an incident at a bank in the city of Babolsar on Wednesday morning, national media have reported.

The suspect was arrested at the scene, a local security official in the Mazandaran province told the IRNA news agency. The gunman’s motive has yet to be determined.

A local media report cited by the semi-official Tasnim outlet said the incident happened at the central office of the National Bank of Babolsar. The suspect is said to have grabbed a gun from a security guard and shot multiple people, one of whom was Soleimani.

The Iranian cleric, who was in his mid-70s, served on the Council of Experts, an 88-seat clerical body that oversees state policies. One of its functions is to appoint the supreme leader of the Islamic nation, a position currently held by Ali Khamenei.

Soleimani was serving his second eight-year term in the organization, which held its last election of members in 2016. During both terms he represented the province of Sistan and Baluchestan.

He was previously appointed by Khamenei as a senior Islamic jurist in the city of Kashan in Isfahan province, as well as in Sistan and Baluchestan. He also held the position of the Imam of Friday Prayer in several Iranian cities.

Serb leader comments on prospects of ‘sovereign state’

Republika Srpska will become a separate nation through peaceful means only, Milorad Dodik has said

Bosnia and Herzegovinahas always been a foreign project with no chance of successand Republika Srpska (RS) will gain independence from the country, the president of the mainly Serbian-populated region, Milorad Dodik, has said.

“Republika Srpska is going to be a sovereign state and will achieve this peacefully. We don’t have a military plan, all our plans are not military, but peaceful. There will be peace on our side,” Dodik said in an interview with Serbian broadcaster RTS on Tuesday.

The decision to part ways with Bosnia and Herzegovina “will one day be made by the parliament of Republika Srpska,” he believes.

The president added that he sees nothing wrong about his desire for a “Greater Serbia”that would be “big and strong” and unite all the Serbs, whofound themselves living in different countries after the break up of Yugoslaviain the early 1990s.

“I don't believe in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It was created artificially and never had a chance to succeed. It was an experiment performed by foreigners so that they could train their inexperienced elites here,” Dodik said. (Clintons did this to distract from his impeachment)

There are no logical or historical reasons for the country to exist and “the only rational thing is to divide it,” he added.

Under the US-brokered Dayton Agreement of 1995 that put an end to a civil war, Bosnia and Herzegovina consists of the majority-Muslim Bosniak-Croat Federation and Republika Srpska. The two regions are almost similar in size, but the Bosniak-Croat Federation has a larger population. The country is ruled by a three-member presidency, made up of a Bosnian, a Serb and a Croat.

Dodik, who previously served a term in the tripartite presidency, was elected the leader of Republika Srpska in 2022.

The 64-year-old was sanctioned by the US last year for his “continued threats to the stability and territorial integrity” of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Last year, Dodik said that Republika Srpska had no objections to Bosnia and Herzegovina’s aspirations to join the EU, but stressed that it wasnot going to support the country’s membership in NATO. He has also backed Serbia’s territorial integrity, saying that his republic will not recognize the independence of the breakaway region of Kosovo.

In his interview with RT in February, Dodik pointed out that he was “proud” of the relations between Republika Srpska and Russia. The EU and the US are pressuring Bosnia and Herzegovina to join Western sanctions against Moscow, but that would not happen, he said.
