Pentagon top brass pleased with Carlson exit – Politico

The popular former Fox News host regularly criticized the “feminization” of the US military

Senior Pentagon officials have welcomed the departure of Tucker Carlson from Fox News, Politico has reported. The popular host regularly criticized the US military’s diversity and inclusivity policies, claiming they were imposed at the expense of battle readiness.

“We’re a better country without himbagging on our military every nightin front of hundreds of thousands of people,” a senior Defense Department official told the news outlet, on condition of anonymity. The source claimed Carlson had “made a mockery” of the free press and “repeatedly cherry-picked department policiesand used themto destroy DoD[Defense Department] as an institution.” (WTF first of all he didn’t talk about the military every night, and this statement itself proves the DoD is woke and hypersensitive, I wonder if they realize how sissified they are now, proving Tucker is right)

Commenting on Carlson’s exit from the conservative network, another official reportedly said: “Good riddance.” (Thin skinned, triggered professionals?)

The popular former prime-time host regularly accused the Pentagon of undermining US fighting capabilities for the sake of ideologically-motivated inclusivity, imposed under pressure from President Joe Biden’s administration.

In a March 2021 segment, Carlson blasted the introduction of flight suits for pregnant aviators, suggesting that Washington was heading in entirely the wrong direction – unlike its rival Beijing.

“While China’s military becomes more masculine as it assembles the world’s largest navy, our military needs to become, as Joe Biden says, more feminine,” Carlson said. “This is a mockery of the US military and its core mission, which is winning wars.”

The remarks triggered a rare direct rebuke by the Pentagon, with then-spokesman John Kirby responding: “What we absolutely won’t do is take personnel advice from atalk show host or the Chinese military.” (Reverse Putin apologist smear)

We know we’re the greatest military in the worldtoday and even for all the things we need to improve, we know exactly why that’s so,” Kirby insisted. (Very few in America believes this, the military has been destroyed)

When asked by Politico what he thought about the reported glee at his departure among senior Pentagon officials, Carlson replied in a text message: “Ha! I’m sure.”

US deploys more cyber-commandos abroad

Military hackers are already at work in 20 countries including Ukraine, a top general told reporters

The=US military has sent dozens of hackers to Ukraineas it expands its cyber presence worldwide, a top military official told Reuters on Monday. Details of their mission are unclear, but the Pentagon says that its hackers “execute full-spectrum operations against adversaries.”

Speaking on the sidelines of the RSA cybersecurity conference in San Francisco, Major General William Hartman of the US army said that the Pentagon’s Cyber National Mission Force (CNMF) hasdeployed 43 specialists to Ukraine. (So Joe is declaring war without Congress approval)

“Those are defense teams we send, and [they] hunt for shared adversaries, find tools and capabilities,” he told the news agency.

Demand for these teams has increased in the last three years, Hartman said, revealing that US hackers haveconducted 47 operations in 20 different countriesin that time frame. The general added that US cyber operatives were deployed at the invitation of the countries in question.

The CNMF was formed in 2014 and was made a unified command under the United States Cyber Command last year. Its jurisdiction appears to be both domestic and international, with the US Cyber Command website stating that CNMF staff are drawn from the US army, air force, navy, and marine corps, all of which are tasked with conducting operations abroad. At the same time, the website describes these operatives as working with the FBI and Department of National Security, both of which operate on US soil.

“CNMF’s mission is to plan, direct and synchronize full-spectrum cyberspace operations to deter, disrupt and if necessary, defeat adversary cyber and malign influence actors,” the website states.

The CNMF’s presence in Ukraine was announced by Hartman last year. However, US officials have not explicitly mentioned its members when disclosing America’s military presence in Ukraine. While recently-leaked Pentagon documents suggested that US and other NATO special forces are operating in Ukraine, National Security Council spokesman John Kirby insisted earlier this month that the US only has a “small military presence” at its embassy in Kiev.

Kiev announced last year that it would recruit up to 300,000 pro-Ukrainian cyber activists to “disrupt the work of [Russian] digital resources” and “fight propaganda.” Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova warned at the time thatKiev risked creating a “cyber ISIS” that would easily transition into criminal activity once the conflict ended.

US drops deadline for nuclear arms upgrade

Los Alamos lab no longer has a set date for meeting its plutonium manufacturing target

The government agency responsible for the US nuclear stockpile has dropped a previous deadline for ramping up production of a key atomic weapons part at Los Alamos National Laboratory, lending credence to concerns about delays and cost overruns voiced by some lawmakers.

The National Nuclear Security Administration (NSAA), an agency in the Department of Energy, delivered its latest Stockpile Stewardship and Management Plan to Congress on Monday.

The Associated Press (AP) pointed out the absence of the deadline for ramping up production of plutonium pits – basic components of thermonuclear weapons – at the historic New Mexico facility. Last year’s report said Los Alamos would be manufacturing 30 pits per year (ppy) by 2026.

The NSAA seeks to produce 80 plutonium pits annually, with the Savannah River Site in South Carolina scheduled to ramp up production to 50 ppy by 2030.

The agency needs to “advance the science and mature the engineering,” complete ongoing equipment upgrades “to optimize the pit production process flow” and expand the workforce at Los Alamos to achieve the 30 ppy mark, the latest update said.

TheWhite House is requesting $18.8 billion for nuclear weapons activities, including $5.6 billion for modernization of production, AP noted. Some lawmakers questioned the ability of the agency to deliver within the budgetary and time constraints.

“It is not unreasonable for Congress to ask you to tell us how long a project is going to take and how much it’s going to cost in exchange for our forking over billions of dollars,” Senator Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts told the NNSA administrator, Undersecretary Jill Hruby, during a recent congressional hearing.

“I suggest that’s what NNSA be required to do before we give them another penny,” she added.

The Pentagon and the Department of Energy are pursuing an ambitious program to beef up the US nuclear arsenal, saying the country needs to keep pace with rivals Russia and China.

The Russian leadership has said its own modernization and development of nuclear deterrence is necessitated by growing threats of conventional warfare posed by the expansion of NATO in Europe.

Mystery military craft with ‘Russian’ markings investigated in Poland

Media said it was most likely an old air-launched missile from the Warsaw Pact era

Polish officials are working to establish the origins of a purported military craft discovered in the northern part of the country. National media reported that the fragments had “inscriptions in Russian” on them and that theobject was likely a Polish missile.

The mystery find was discovered in a forest some 15 km east of the city of Bydgoszcz, the administrative center of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, according to news reports and statements by Polish officials on Thursday. Media said there was a heavy presence of law enforcement, soldiers and bomb experts in the area.

Polish authorities offered only limited comments on the incident. The defense ministry stated that the situation posed no threat to civilians in a Twitter post. Justice Minister Zbigniew Ziobro confirmed an ongoing probe into the “aerial military craft”near Bydgoszcz by military and civilian investigators.

RMF FM radio initially reported that the aircraft may have been a drone and that investigators found inscriptions in the Russian language on them. It later revised the assessment, suggesting that the remains came from an air-to-surface missile, which probably belonged to the Polish military. Poland has a stockpile of legacy weapons received from the USSR when it was a member of the Warsaw Pact.

The object was reportedly first found on Monday, but has likely been at the location for as long as several weeks. It was described by journalists as several meters long and sticking out of the ground.

Last November, two Polish farmers were killed by a missile close to the Ukrainian border. Kiev claimed that the projectile was Russian, with President Vladimir Zelensky urging “collective action” by NATO members in retaliation.

Warsaw acknowledged that it was most likely a Ukrainian anti-aircraft missile, which strayed off course and into Polish airspace. The Polish government, which supports Kiev in its fight against Russia, blamed Moscow for the incident.

Ukrainian air defense ‘depleting’ – minister

Western supplies of missiles and fighter jets would help close the gap with Russia, Defense Minister Aleksey Reznikov has said

Kiev is running out of Soviet-made anti-aircraft missiles and needs the US and its allies to provide more weapons, including fighter jets, to close the gap with Russia, Ukrainian Defense Minister Aleksey Reznikov has said.

“We have a Soviet [air defense] system, and its missile reserves are depleting. If we don’t produce them and only nations, from which we can’t get them, have more, we need to replenish them with something else,” Reznikov stated in an interview with national media on Thursday. (Big fucking NO!)

The minister said Western-made anti-aircraft systems and an increasing number of missiles compatible with them are Kiev’s goals, as was acquiring fighter jets from NATO.

“A modern generation 4++ plane is a fully-fledged part of air defense. Once we have them, they will close the gaps left by our soviet systems,” Reznikov said, expressing certainty that his nation will be able to work through Western resistance. (Yeah right they ruin or sell off the weapons already sent)

The US and its allies have been reluctant to send these types of weapons to Ukraine. Kiev needs sponsors to pledge to provide not only the fighter jets, but also all the munitions and maintenance services they require, the minister explained. “Some nations signed off on tanks, and what we see is them giving four or six, not 200 or 300.”(Always Whining)

Kiev’s problems with air defense were exposed by purported classified Pentagon assessments leaked online. A late February estimate predicted that most types of Soviet missiles would be gone by May, the Wall Street Journal reported earlier this month. The US military proposed covering the shortfall with supplies of German Iris-T and American NASAMS and Patriot systems, according to the leak.

In the interview, Reznikov stressed the importance of showcasing foreign weapons on the battlefield for Kiev’s effort to maintain the flow of arms into the country. He recalled how he used a photo of an Australian-provided Bushmaster armored vehicle for that purpose.

“I said: ‘I urgently need a video with a thank you to the Australian people.’ The guys recorded a message of gratitude in English, and I sent [it] through our ambassador to Australia,” he stated. “We said we needed more Bushmasters.”

Kiev has long promised to use Western arms and training to launch a major counteroffensive against Russia sometime this spring and reclaim territory, but so far it has failed to materialize. Reznikov said the expectations for the operation have been overblown.

Several Western media outlets have also warned that Kiev’s military achievements during the future push against Russiamay prove to be lackluster and undermine requests for more military assistance.

Leaders in alleged Pentagon leaker’s unit suspended – media

The US Air Force Inspector General’s office is investigating Jack Teixeira’s place of service

TheUS Air Force has suspended two leaders of the unitwhere alleged Pentagon leaker Jack Teixeira served, according to US media reports. The Department of Defense is investigating the extent of Teixeira’s alleged unauthorized disclosure of classified intelligence assessments.

The commander of the 102nd Intelligence Support Squadron and the detachment commander overseeing administrative support have been temporarily relieved of their duties and currently have no access to classified materials, CBS news said on Wednesday, citing military officials. Teixeira, 21, worked as an IT specialist at the Otis Air National Guard Base.

The commanders were suspended pending further investigation by the Air Force Inspector General, the report said. More people in the unit could face suspensions and potential removal as the probe progresses, it added. Officials from the Inspector General’s office arrived at the Massachusetts base on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, federal prosecutors have asked the US District Court in Massachusetts to keep Teixeira in custody as he awaits trial. A memo filed ahead of his court hearing on Thursday argued that he remained a threat to national security and posed a significant flight risk if granted bail, considering that US adversaries may try to shield him from prosecution.

Parties hostile to the US “have every incentive to contact the Defendant, to seek additional information he may have physical access to or knowledge of, and to provide him with the means to help him flee the country in return for that information,” the Department of Justice stated.

Teixeira faces a lengthy prison sentence and has a net worth of approximately only $19,000, the document noted, making the case for his continued detention.

The airman is suspected of leaking dozens of classified documents over the course of several months to a closed chat group on the Discord platform. The security breach became public knowledge earlier this month after the materials made their way to other social media platforms.

While many of the images attributed to the leak focused on the Ukraine conflict, others were related to other nations, such as Israel and South Korea. The documents also indicated that Washington was spying on its closest allies.

GDP Disappoints: U.S. Economy Grew Just 1.1% in First Quarter

John Carney27 Apr 2023

The U.S. economy expanded at a sluggish 1.1 percent annual pace in the first three months of the year despite strong consumer spending.

Wall Street analysts had expected a two percent increase in gross domestic product after the economy grew 2.6 percent in the final three months of last year.

Consumer spending remained very strong, rising 3.7 percent in the January through March period.

The weakness came from business investment and inventories, perhaps suggesting that businesses expected a weaker level of consumer spending.

(Guaranteed dopey will tell the US its our best quarter ever)

Noem on 2024: ‘Not No’ But Super-Focused South Dakota

Jeff Poor26 Apr 2023

Tuesday, during an appearance on FNC’s “Hannity,” Gov. Kristi Noem (R-SD) sounded off on the possibilities of a 2024 presidential run.

According to the South Dakota governor, she wasn’t ruling it out.

Partial transcript as follows:

HANNITY: All right. You shut me down the last time but I have to ask the obligatory question, and I don’t blame you for shutting me down. But there is a lot of talk that you might be considering getting in to the presidential race and the nominating part of the race.

Are you considering in any way, shape, matter, or form a run for the presidency?

NOEM: I’m super focused here, Sean, in South Dakota. But I’ll tell you — this country cannot afford four more years of Joe Biden. So we need new leadershipand leadership that loves this country, not one that is literally not healthy — (they are using ageism to dismiss Trump)

HANNITY: All right. Can I push a little harder?

NOEM: You can.

HANNITY: That’s not enough —

NOEM: I don’t know if it’s going to do you any good but you sure can.

HANNITY: All right. Well, give me a shot, but that’s not a no. Would you consider it? Are you considering it?

NOEM: It’s not a no, but also, Sean, we’ve got so many people that are talking about it and running that I think it’s best if I stay focused where I am and continue to visit with my family and pray and do the best thing that I we think is right for our family, but then also still continue to serve this country because we need people that’ll step up and do hard things these days to solve our problems.

So I — if I had an answer that was clear, I’d give it to you today, I promise.

HANNITY: So, half a no, maybe in a possibility. I don’t know.
