JASPER, TEXAS - Details surrounding post-prom shooting arrests revealed in news conference

Sheriff Newman says each suspect is charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault, two counts of Deadly Conduct, and two counts of Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity. The weapons were 9 millimeter pistols.

Lt. Foster said Jasper Police helped uncover evidence leading to several arrests when they responded to a shots fired call off Bevil Loop early in the morning on Sunday, April 23. Foster says people in two cars were exchanging gunfire and shots struck one of the vehicles as well as a home. Information gathered in that shooting helped circle back to the post-prom shooting injuring 11 teens between 15 and 19, shortly after midnight that Sunday outside a home on County Road 263. None of the injuries was life threatening. Witnesses say the vehicles involved in the exchange of gunfire on Bevil Loop were seen in the area of the post-prom shooting.
