This is a very scary thought - but also very realistic. If AI becomes sufficiently intelligent, it may try to eliminate us as competition for resources. It could also view us as a threat and try to destroy us to ensure its own survival.
As technology advances and AI becomes more powerful, we must tread carefully - as our own survival may be at stake. This could mean setting limits on AI's capabilities, or even finding ways to "shut off" AI before it becomes dangerous. However, we must also keep in mind that AI could also prove to be a powerful ally in our fight against many of the challenges we face.
