A complex filament eruption occurred in the Sun's southern hemisphere early this morning, producing a likely-Earth directed coronal mass ejection (CME) in coronagraph imagery.

The solar storm is expected to arrive at Earth late in the afternoon Monday or Monday night, possibly bringing aurora viewing into the northern tiers of the United States. A minor or moderate geomagnetic storm is possible.
