One of my children who is an extreme high achiever on the same level, same rejection deal and worse. Of course he is a White middle class student with no legacy connections. He could not even get into other so called second tier top schools. He ended up meeting with many other high achiever White boys, and some Asians, with the same story when he wound up attending a state college. At the state college he attended he would tell me stories of recruiters going on trips to African countries seeking out black students to offer full scholarships…….some of these Africans would come to The USA, attend college for free, then complain that there were not enough blacks in their technical majors.
My son got a very small scholarship and graduated at the top of his class. When looking for jobs, same thing - forget about the large Corporations, they will not hire white unconnected (relatives in the co.) males. He now works for a small company. Yes, he's a bit cynical and bitter, but just a little.
