just means gmo soybeans were used in the oil

like they have been using for years

if you want non gmo hellman's sells it also

hellman's organic mayonnaise

certified organic soybean oil and cage free eggs

this bioengineered label has only been around since dec 31, 2021

the "national bioengineered food disclosure standard"

was a law passed in 2016, standards set in 2018 , labels went into effect in dec 2021

anything with corn, corn oil, soybeans or soybean oil will proably have this label

because most people don't care / don't read labels and it is easier to label everything and not worry where the corn came from, even if it was not gmo corn

 

for the ones who do care the companies run seperate lines as a specialty product, with non-gmo ingredients

usually at higher prices because of the extra costs involved
