Logically, there are only two reasons to interpret revelation (meaningfully). Either it describes events mostly transpired… or events mostly yet to come. The only belief for the church to hold is that the views of the righteous church will hold until being destroyed by the false prophet and beast before being restored after a time.
The correct interpretation is that the church is part of the antichrist and beast to be destroyed as part of the return of god to his kingdom (or human recognition of it, more accurately).
God is in his kingdom. To find god, seek first the kingdom.
